Excepcional!
This hotel is even better in person! The service was outstanding, the hotel is absolutely beautiful and the rooms are really comfy & well decorated. The breakfast area is stunning with animal art/paintings all over, wonderful music playing and the food was delicious and varied. They even made “sagu” for us and this wasn’t even on their menu. 10 out of 10!

Superb experience . Professional staff, attentive at all times . We had an issue with the car and they were very hands on . Security was excellent . Felt safe . Breakfast delicious and the young lady who waited on us so nice and professional. Wonderful place.

The ambiance and the location of the hotel were perfect. The grounds were impeccable. Breakfast was delicious and served in a beautifully decorated ornate salon. Would definitely stay here again!

Colonial hotel beautiful
Beautiful historic hotel in the center of Petropolis. I would highly recommend this hotel. For the cost, its picturesque. Every room has character. Enjoy the grounds and walk around the friendly town!

Fantastic old-world elegance
We love these kinds of old-fashioned, elegant hotels - hotel & room were in excellent condition, staff was very friendly, king bed was super comfy, excellent dinner in the Leopoldina restaurant - even though nearly empty, we enjoyed dinner very much. Beautiful dining room for breakfast. Good value for the price - not cheap, but worth it. We had a "suite" which isn't a suite at all - just the biggest rooms they have. Other reviews mention that the ground floor rooms are damp & dark - I didn't look in any, but could imagine that. Rooms upstairs don't cost a lot more - it's worth it I think. There seemed a number of negative reviews on websites and my expectations were a bit low - I was pleasantly surprised at how great I thought the hotel was.

This is a beautiful historic hotel. The grounds are nice. Breakfast was outstanding - a real highlight. Service was excellent and the staff speak engliish, which was helpful for a couple gringos like us.

O Solar do Império é digno de um nobre. Lindo, grandioso, um palácio. As suítes são confortáveis. Mas, o hotel tem que investir na manutenção e limpeza. Está maltratado, precisando de pinturas, revitalização e limpeza mais detalhada. Janelas com muita poeira, os quartos inferiores com cheiro de mofo, os interiores dos armários, gavetas, com cheiro de mofo. O local é úmido, mas se faz necessário, limpeza permanente e uso de produtos para mofo. Manter os quartos abertos, deixar bater sol, quando os apartamentos estiverem vazios e não fechar tudo, como ocorre. Restaurante precisa de mais opções e café da manhã muito limitado. Adoro o hotel e o local, mas a administração precisa ser mais profissional
