The Holiday Inn Express NE Philadelphia/Bensalem is not a hotel; it’s a poorly managed disaster. If you’re considering staying here, don’t. Pitch a tent at a gas station instead—you’ll have better service and fewer headaches.
The one pro? The breakfast wasn’t terrible. But everything else? A nightmare. The entire hotel reeks of marijuana, with guests treating their rooms like permanent apartments, complete with welcome mats. Room 316? A health hazard. The bathtub didn’t drain, forcing speed showers or standing in ankle-deep mystery water. The air conditioning rattled like it was falling apart, and the bathroom fan? Useless, moldy, and screeching.
Saturday night, our room keys stopped working, forcing us to drag our exhausted child to the lobby. The front desk employee brushed it off with, “Oh, this just happens,” handed us one working key, and ignored the rest. When I called to complain, she hung up on me repeatedly. I had to confront her in the lobby, where she called her manager on her personal cell. The manager? Yelled at me like I caused the issues.
By Tuesday, the same manager escalated the situation. After refusing to fix anything or address her staff’s behavior, she claimed I was the problem, asked me to leave, and denied a refund. The police had to get involved before I finally got my refund.
Save yourself the misery and stay somewhere else instead.
