The Sonesta Philadelphia Rittenhouse is a very nice, modern, upscale hotel. It is located in a very convenient location on Market Street in Philly. There is a CVS, Bank of America and Santander bank steps away away from the front door. There is also a Ruth Chris steakhouse downstairs and a very nice eat-in deli 2 minutes down the street. A very walkable area with restaurants, sandwich shops, pubs and a very nice jazz club 10 minutes away on foot. There area was very well-lit and it seemed to be in the financial district of the city, so there was always people walking in and out of businesses in the area and close to the subway’s entrances and exits. I enjoyed my stay there.

Reviews of this place seemed great. We were excited for the pool which did end up being the highlight of the trip but the room was very dirty. There were water marks down the walls where the sprinklers were and the lampshades were also dirty with water marks. The shower was also run down and dirty. There was no comforter, just a sheet and very thin blanket. But more so than that, was probably the experience we had with our neighbors. We arrived back to the room around 10:30 with our 11 year old son. As we snuggled into the bed to watch a little tv, my son jumped out of bed and ran to the window. The sounds of two people having sex next door and being so ridiculously loud and over the top with it, actually led me child to think someone was being murdered. Asking why the woman was moaning as if she were being killed. We turned the tv up louder than we would normally to watch tv and eventually he fell asleep. But that wasn’t the end unfortunately. We also woke up to this as well around 8:30-9am to the sounds of extremely loud moaning from said woman. wanted to tell the front desk when I was checking out but my kid was next to me and I didn’t want to say anything in front of him. I mean what is the hotel suppose to do about that? Overall just not a great experience for us. The pool was nice however and we tried to enjoy before checking out.

Very nice but tired hotel. Good location and convenient if expensive parking on site. Pool is big and nice so try to enjoy it - a very nice space to relax and enjoy a swim.

Stay away from this hotel!! I travel and stay in hotels very often but I have never seen a property like this. I was forced to leave it at 8pm because the noise in my room was unbearable. At the check in (obviously too late for me to look for a different hotel at this point), I was handed a piece of paper informing me that some parking lot next to the property is getting some work done and that its possible that at times i ‘might hear some noises’. Long story short I was woken up at 8am to what sounded like a sledgehammer digging a hole in the room next door, non stop! When I called the front desk, it was so loud we couldnt even hear one another. I was told that they handed me the note at the checking and it was my decision to stay there. The hotel is also dirty, disorganized and in general shoddy looking. BTW Expedia wasnt able to getme a refund or even an apology

Safe to say, this property has seen better days. The rooms are dated, dirty, and look more like a motel than a 4 star hotel. Not too mention, overnight parking at $55 tax, is just not justified. Would suggest Expedia update the profile and not call this hotel 'luxurious'.

The hotel is definitely very dated, the room had a mini fridge that was dirty and with an empty bottle in it. I notified the reception and they promptly removed it but nobody clearly checks to clean inside the cupboards. Location was convenient. We didn’t end up using the pool.

This is one of the few hotels that have an outdoor pool. Everything was good at the hotel except that the pool bar is only open Friday and Saturday. Not on Sunday.
