NEW TO VRBO! Been with "the other site" for years and trying this out.
Amazing views of the Sierra from this private mobile-home in the foothills! Located on a hill above our family home, you will have some of the best views on our 50-acre ranch. We sit at the top of a ridge overlooking the Cosumnes River. We invite you to explore the property by various hiking trails. We have goats, sheep, chickens, ducks, guinea fowl, and guardian dogs on the property, as pets. Wild deer & turkeys roam freely. At night you may hear the howl of a coyote as you gaze at the stars.
The space
It's cozy and comfortable, with some fun stylish touches! A small bathroom and kitchenette separate the bedroom from the living room. There is a fold-down couch/bed in the living room, big enough for small children or one adult.
You have views out of almost every window, of which there are many.
But get even closer with your own private outdoor/patio area! Boasting a small dining table & chairs, sun umbrella, and a lounge chair. Whip up a delicious outdoor meal on the BBQ grill (propane, tools, and oven mitts provided). Finish off your evening around the propane fire pit as you enjoy the stars and songs of crickets.
This is the wilderness, so we have bugs a plenty! No matter how much we clean, there will always be small 'friends' around the clubhouse. Seasonally, there can be mosquitos in the air, ticks in the grass, snakes sleeping under rocks, and coyotes howling in the distance. Just like when you go camping, be prepared to take some precautions and definitely romanticize every last moment!
The area around the clubhouse is cleared of tall grass. As are roads and most pathways.
*If you are unsure what poison oak looks like or how to handle it, take a look at WebMD or CA Poison Control websites for more info. We are also happy to point it out to you. All poison oak has been removed from the immediate vicinity of the house.
*If you are unsure what ticks look like or how to handle them, take a look at the CDC website.
Also, be aware that the property is remote; 15 minute drive to nearest services. But OH is it QUIET :-)
Guest access
You will have a map of the property. Feel free to walk/hike in the areas shown on the map. Please be cautious, there is poison oak and sometimes rattlesnakes in the summer.
We ask that you respect 'private' signs, resident buildings, and our animals. Please stay about 200ft back from the main house.
*See map for more details.
Access to the animals is by appointment only. We give guided hikes with our goats on Saturdays for $9/per person (about 30+minutes). Inquire about reservations.
