I had an amazing stay at Hilton Playa del Carmen! The staff were outstanding—kind, attentive, and always ensuring I was happy. I felt incredibly secure when I forgot my wallet in the room safe, and they promptly called to let me know it was in Lost and Found. Special thanks to Priscilla for her warm welcome, and Samantha, the day manager, for going above and beyond to make my stay perfect, even arranging a room change to enhance my vacation. Also, a big shoutout to Hilda, Marisa, and Karen at Aromas Café, as well as the hardworking and kind buffet staff. Thank you for an unforgettable experience!

Buffet was smaller, but surprisingly really good. According to reviews, the Asian restaurant was good but the Mexican places not so good. I found the exact opposite. Don’t order the catch of the day from the sit down places! Dry dry dry! Had a very relaxing time. Recommend the pool view rooms

We had brown water coming out of our sink and everything was quite outdated and dirty. Food options were not good at all, almost everything at the buffet was cold, hard and dry. We definitely expected more out of the Hilton considering that is the hotel chain that we choose to stay at in other places as well. We found the employees here to be very tip driven. If you aren’t giving as much as others, they have an attitude with you. We had a waiter who took others before us even though we were in line first. They showed some rudeness and apathy which is horrible on their end because we did pay for our meals and we did tip, that being as much as we could. There was also some racism at play here given we were the only Indian couple at the resort so we felt extremely targeted by the employees here. Definitely will not be coming back.

Great area, great property and even better staff friendliness. I continue to go to this location because it never disappoints. Everyone is super helpful and friendly- Miguel Arcos remembered our drinks, was very helpful with activities and very knowledgeable about all the hotel activities and restaurants available at the hotel.

The resort from office treats people who book with a third party, such as Expedia, like they are an inconvenience and second rate. They give you a different colored wrist band so everyone knows you don’t get the same “perks”… service. When I arrived, I tried to arrange travel back to the airport and they told me I could not get their service I had to talk to my travel agent. I was also not able to book with the third party services for excursions on site, I had to have those who I traveled with book it. We were definitely treated differently than the other two parties with us who booked direct. Upon departure there was noone willing to assist me even though I had booked my cab. I was not allowed in the cab without a special slip but could not get decent help. Fortunately when I insisted I was getting in the cab the valet gentleman walked me in to get checked out and the guy who refused me lied and said he was assisting another guest and could help me now once the baker spoke to him in Spanish. I checked out two days early and will never go back. PS beach access is very limited. I don’t recommend anyone book with a third party stay here and also there are nicer resorts with better beach access and restaurants than this one that may be more accommodating to third parties. They also denied me Hilton honors points.

There is so much positive I want to say about our stay at the Hilton Playa del Carmen. From the moment we arrived to the moment we got in the shuttle to leave. Thank you all the hospitable staff I cannot remember the name of all: Alejandro at the pool, Ruben at Pelicanos, Yolanda and Aldo at M. Patrona. Lili and Fernando for the pictures. The lifeguard to cleaned up the scrape/cut I got on my leg when I slipped by the pool. Thank you to the whole entertainment team! Water aerobics, water spin— the FOAM party was the best!!! The gym was clean and well organized probably the best workouts I’ve gotten all year! Thank you to the caballeros at La Mejorada bar! Thank you to the senoritas at Aromas cafe- always smiling and always welcoming. Thank you to Lili for being our housekeeper when we needed a little cleaning up. Thank you to the guys at the bar at Kalamata who were always checking on our drinks by the pool. I’ve been to Playa before and stayed somewhere else. I’m in love with the city and now I’m in love with this resort. We were never ignored, always well cared for. The food was delicious!! We loved it so much we plan to return around the same time next year and hopefully extend the stay. Thank you HILTON!
