What a lovely well presented hotel, with comfortable rooms, a swimming pool was available, unfortunately I didn't have time to use it. Breakfast was very good with a great choice to suit everyone. The location in the Dordogne valley is stunning, I would definitely stay here again.
We booked a "Family Room" in this very nice, simple looking hotel in the Dordogne Valley.
The couple running the place was very nice and welcoming. Although the hotel lobby and hallways were nice, clean and simple, we were extra pleasantly surprised by our room! It had a very nice layout, with a newly renovated bathroom, and a giant loft space for kids - including 2 twin beds and a couch (3rd bed).
The BEST part was the private outdoor patio with nice furniture overlooking the pool area - we ended up having lots of picnics there on that patio as it was so relaxing with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains.
Speaking of which, the location of this place couldn't be better! It was pretty much in the exact center of everywhere we wanted to visit, and has amazing views of all of the many castles on each of the surrounding mountains!
We definitely look forward to staying here again!
We had a wonderful stay!! The hotel was extremely clean. The rooms and bathrooms are completely updated. Our room had a patio, and the views were breathtaking. We included breakfast with our stay, which I highly recommend - it was fantastic!! Will definitely come back!
Highly recommend this hotel. It is very clean, the beds are comfortable and the bathrooms are modern, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the hotel is well located in relations to the main sites of the Vezac area. There is a wonderful breakfast, too, for a cost of 12 euros per person that features many local honeys, cheeses, breads, and jams.
Hôtel fantastique! emplacement parfait ... calme ... propre ... et nous avons été tellement surpris par un incroyable petit déjeuner! reviendra ... merci!
We stayed here for a week in June. The proprietors, Dominique and Sophie are very friendly and helpful, language permitting. The room was extremely clean, comfortable and well fitted out. Excellent en suite. The breakfasts are very good and varied and the breakfast room is pleasant and immaculately kept. Sophie works very hard to ensure that everything is running smoothly for her guests. We were a little disappointed not to have a garden view. Our room overlooked a courtyard and had a table and chairs for general use of guests, just outside our window, which could have been problematic privacy-wise if they had been used, but apart from that we were very pleased with all other aspects of our stay and would have no hesitation in returning here, if staying in the area.
Friendly staff in a beautiful location in the countryside with views of several castles and just minutes away from the stunning La Roque Gageac. Had everything we needed. Be careful if you are arriving in the evening as local restaurants and shops close very early.
Great hotel in a fabulous location. Good room, tea & coffee making facilities was a real bonus. Staff incredibly helpful. Great breakfast. Views from hotel were fantastic. Close for Chateaus, rock villages, gardens. Beautiful area.
Hostel in Périgord surrounded by 5 medieval castle
Truly amazing small hostel, located in a valley surrounded by 5 medieval castles at a short driving distance. The bathroom was renovated with an Italian shower. The morning breakfast is an extra of 9.5 euros per person and is worth it: large buffet with a good selection of food, homemade jams and sweet breads. The owner was very helpful for all our needs. There is a swimming pool but we could not use it due to the weather.
Quiet oasis close to Sarlat, Beynac and La Roque-G
Good base for discovering the Dordogne region with all the little towns nearby. The room was not big but had a desk and 2 chairs, a wardrobe and 2 bedside tables. The bed was very comfortable and there was airconditioning. The bathroom was big with a proper bath tub, and the toilet was small but separateThe price was excellent at €49 a night.
This hotel is in serious need of updating and modernisation. Overall the hotel was spotlessly clean. Pool area was fine too only the path ways were a bit loose. Staff were helpful however no English but that's part of the fun to pick up some French. Location wise it's about 10 mins drive from a supermarket and a drive from sarlat where we went for dinner.
We arrived at 8pm. There was a notice on the front door addressed to us sending us around the back - the key is in the door.... The family room has little natural light and the floors were lino. The bathroom was 1980's tiles and cheap plastic fittings - but it was clean. No restaurant and a generally run-down appearance - not a place I would stay again.

Disliked: Cleanliness
Close to our location after sport event
The breakfast was good value for money with plenty of choices of fruit bread and jams. Good hot drinks Poor choice of breakfast food such as cornflakes .Lamp bulb in bedroom was covered in visible dust/flick Walk in shower in my friends room had to be protected with rolled towels to stop flooding of room. Pool looked excellent but not tested. No interest from management in referring us to a restaurant outside as we thought that the hotel restaurant would serve evening meals but it was closed. I doubt if we would stay there again.Could not get TV control to work. So no TV.

Liked: Cleanliness, room comfort
Quite shabby but comfortable
L'Oustal is well located with lovely views of several chateaus. The pool looked nice but we didn't use it. Our room was in the older part of the building and quite shabby but still comfortable. I think the rooms in the newer wing are much better but that's just a guess. Breakfast was pretty good, especially for France. There's free WiFi in the lobby area from about 0800-2030.
A very affordable hotel in the picturesque valley of the Dordogne area between Beynac and La Roque. Staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. A very central area for day tours in the area.
This little family run hotel is in an unbelievable location in the Dordogne with an amazing view of the mighty Beynac castle and very close to the pretty village of Castlenaud Le Chapelle with two great riverside restaurants.Very highly recommended
