Sound reverberates through this hotel and conversations, footsteps, and restaurant noise is amplified. Outside street noiae is loud, too. It's quiet through the night, though, as el centro shuts down relatively early here.

Beautiful but noisy at times
Great place. Unfortunately our room was facing a busy street so was very noisy. We were frequently awakened by car horns. Get a room on the quiet side.

After many, many visits to Plazuela I cannot say enough good things about it. The location, the history, and most importantly -- the people -- Plazuela is my home away from home in Popayan. I think you'll love it to.

Beautiful outside and courtyard. Our room was in the second back courtyard, and a bit more modern than I thought it would be - with slight smell (sewage?) and non-functioning safe. Breakfast was disappointing: served (non-buffet) American breakfast, with no other options (e.g. Colombian food would have been great).

Great colonial hotel in historic center
Very atmospheric, clean and comfortable room with a safe. Wonderful staff and excellent location. Across the street from a beautiful church. I did not have any hot water in my room, however, so needed up change rooms.

Perfect city centre location but tranquil
Lovely ambience. Great location for the city centre sights. And the Menu del Dia we had for lunch one day was delicious (for Colombia) and great value. We enjoyed our stay.

Perfectly peaceful
Popayán's center is a wonderful place. And this hotel was a perfect example of the quite beauty. The room was spacious, clean, and relatively quite, especially being on the street side. The bed was somewhat hard, but otherwise the room was very comfortable. On future trips, we will definitely stay again.

Visit to the White City
The location of the hotel is awesome...within short walking distance to the main square and historic area. They've done a beautiful job of renovating the hotel...the decor, inside square and dining area match the colonial elegance of the city. The room is clean and comfortable. Double beds are small, pillows are a bit hard and no toiletries in bathroom like shampoo.

Nice colonial hotel but terrible staff.
Hotel is centrally located to most historical attractions. It is nice and clean but the reception desk is very unprofessional. They didn't want to honor my expedia reservation. I had to print out the mail with the reservation in a different place. This was awkward as it was late and I was tired. The clerk lied about multiple policies. Be aware as this office scans your passports and hopefully they dont do anything with them. I would choose a cheaper hotel there are plenty on the area without this nuisances.

excellent central hotel
Great location in the very heart of Popayan, great food from the restaurant, excellent setting in a well maintained colonial building and very helpful staff. Wi-Fi was not available in our room, which was facing the main road and so quite noisy during the day. Overall excellent quality at a low price. Highly recommended.
