I stayed at Lake Crescent Lodge, Kalaloch Lodge, and Lake Quinault Lodge inside the Olympic National Park. Among these three, I personally think Lake Crescent Lodge has the best view and surroundings to explore, with the worst quality of room and amenities. So like many people have said, you are basically paying for the view, not the sleep.
The room we got is kind of small, the amenities are old, and the beddings are also not very clean. The front door lock had some issue that we had to try multiple times before we could lock it. The wall is paper thin and we could hear all the moves from upstair. Thankfully we visited during the thanksgiving break so not many people were in the building.
The main building in which the registration and dinning hall locates is well furnished and has a real fireplace. There is a bar in front of the dinning hall where you can get some drink (or just hot water for free like we did). The food is okayyyyyy but kind of expensive, which is understandable since you don't have much choice inside the park unless you want to drive back and forth from port angeles.
Usually I would not recommend such a place for stay, but the lake view, the lake shore trail and nearby rain forest are so nice. If you come in the summer you might also boat or swim inside the lake. So, if you want to spend more time inside the park and the lake, this is a good place. Otherwise, hotels at port angeles could be better choices.

I’ll return just not to the pyramid rooms
I love this lake and area. Hikes are great and the view. It is a great escape. This is my second time staying here. The first time i stayed in one of the cabins which are great. This time I was in the pyramid rooms which are not so great. Pretty dirty and moldy bathrooms. Might be one of the oldest structures. It just needs TLC. Just simple maintenance. Shower diverter did not work properly either. I will try a different room next year but definitely staying away from the pyramid rooms.
Great location and views, rooms are a little dated

Beautiful scenery and easy access to nearby hiking trails. However, the rooms are poorly maintained, and the walls were so thin that I could hear every word spoken in the neighboring rooms.

sighting is pretty, not much to do. whole place is run down, and bed sheets had many holes so i can see the mattress underneath.
We stayed in the Pyramid motel units. They were clean, standard rooms. No fridge or Wi-Fi. No view of the lake.

stunning views and cabin-y feel. loved hanging out in the lodge watching the weather change over the lake. Had two outstanding meals in the lodge restaurant
We had a great time here, I wish that the cabins had TVs as we did not get great service on our phone so I should have brought a book. But it was great to unplug. It was snowing at the time so it was beautiful. This was a great place to stay on our way to the Victoria Ferry.
I was in Flordia when the hurricane hit and my flight was canceled. I of course could not predict this and therefore could not cancel within their 4 days. They refused to cancel and I payed for nothing by. Horrible customer service.
To start, booked a 2 bedroom suite, and ended up with 1 bed. Stained towels and sheets, and mold everywhere in shower. Walls paper thin. Not worth it! Only pro is the close proximity to the lake.
Beautiful & historical setting. Loading and unloading of the car at our Marymere Motor Inn room was rather difficult and slippery due to the grassy slope with snow and rain. Dining food quality at the Lodge was overpriced for institutional quality food. The lodge Staff was friendly and generally accommodating. Our room was not well cleaned (mildew and rust stains in the bathroom and several, big dust bunnies in the room itself. Room lighting, seating, and furniture were sparse.
The location of Lake Crescent is fantastic......the lake, the tropical like forest, the mountains, the inn, the dinner menu are all five star....did not want to leave.
