The property served our needs just fine. We had stayed here 6 years ago and found it to be a bit better then. There was a nice tavern that we ate dinner at and was quite good. Unbeknownst to us, the tavern is no longer there which limits food options and had us scrambling for a backup at 8pm. Most restaurants close by 7-8:30 which is something to be aware of when in the area. We stayed in a 3 bedroom townhome with our dogs. It was clean but the bed was very uncomfortable, my husband and I rolled into each other. When walking around the property with the dogs, there was no trash can to be found so disposing of dog waste was a challenge. Continental breakfast was confusing, it's placed in the back of the restaurant and is complimentary however if you sit down in the restaurant to eat your "complimentary breakfast" the wait staff (who was very nice) expects you to order items from the menu. So if we had known that, we would have carried out our breakfast to avoid that awkwardness. Overall it suited our needs, it is an amazing location in proximity to all the shops but it was a bit disappointing for reasons mentioned in this review.

Great weekend stay
Really lovely Inn! Staff in the bar/restaurant weee fun and very accommodating. We brought our pooch and there was a dog dish, some nice wet food, and a dog bed in our room - such nice touches! We’d stay here again in a heartbeat!

This property is beautiful and created a very relaxing atmosphere. The only drawback was the large soaker tub in the bathroom. It looked inviting, but did not appear to be safe for a 5’ senior citizen (75year old) to try to climb in and out of. If we had stayed more than one night, this would have been a more serious hygiene issue. During our week traveling in Maine, this was my favorite lodging.

I was shocked when I entered the lobby area. It all looks so tired and dirty. The rug in common areas have stains as did the rug in my guest room. I really don't understand how this place receives positive ratings.
