I love Portland, and if you want a room with a balcony the Regency is the only one place I've found that provides this. This time we were in a regular room, no balcony but still fantastic service. Two branded bathrobes in the closet, with two umbrellas. Next to the hairdryer. In the bathroom big enough to hold a spare bed, beautifully folded pairs of towels, and a black one with white writing saying "make-up". This happens to be in a beautiful Armory, with Maine friendly staff, and the perfect location for dining and shopping.

Extremely disappointed. If it wasn't $600 for one night then I might feel differently, but so much seemed dated and the room was very old and musty smelling. The double beds felt small as my feet were entirely hanging off the end (I'm 6' 1"). And there were only two wall outlets which was surprising. On a positive note, the area is top notch. It was such a cool stretch of restaurants/bars and it was very easy to walk everywhere.

Nice hotel and great location
The Regency was comfortable and had a great location. We didn’t stay long enough to partake in the hot tub because it closed at 6 pm when the spa closes. We enjoyed our short stay in Portland and would definitely go back.

Our room was really large and the bed was super comfortable. We were within walking distance of every thing we wanted to do. The pool was under maintenance so that was not usable. Over all it was a nice hotel and we would stay again.

Very disappointed with our 1 night stay here. Chose this hotel because of the great reviews and had wanted to visit Portland for a long time. Our room overlooked the side of a building, the windows were narrow and high up. The room was dated, not very large and honestly, a little depressing considering it cost close to $600/night! The only redeeming thing would be the restaurant where every member made every attempt to accommodate us. They were all amazing!

The hotel itself is okay. It wasn't anything special. I thought for the price the rooms would be nicer. You are just paying for the location. I was quite disappointed as when I booked, it stayed the room would have a spa tub. It didn't even have a tub, it was just a regular shower. I figured no big deal because at least we could use the sauna/hot tub in the spa. The spa closes at 6. So if you're staying only one night, you have limited time to use it. I was excited about the tub/spa after hiking in Acadia, but that did not work out in our favor. To top it off, the gentleman at the front desk wasn't very friendly at all, and we had to pay for hotel parking, which wasn't stated when I booked. I wouldn't stay here again. There are other hotels that are just as good or better in the area, or stay a little farther from downtown and take an Uber. Lesson learned & you don't always get what you pay for.

This is our third time staying in Portland and our first time here. From check in to check out the staff was helpful and friendly. It’s our third hotel/spa location we’ve tried and by far the best and the price per night during peak vacation times was more than affordable. (One place we stayed at in April for $259/night was now charging over $850/night). 10/10 recommend for anyone’s stay.
