The pros:
Fabulous location - a quiet neighborhood in close proximity to great shops and restaurants. Tristan, the host, is very responsive and communicative. The kitchen is well-stocked with plates, cups, flatware, and cooking utensils.
The air conditioning is great and customizable to each bedroom. The outdoor space is fantastic.
The cons:
Amenities - there aren't many. It was made very clear that there were only limited quantities of toilet paper (2 rolls,) paper towels (1 roll) and trash bags (1.) The kitchen lacked basic pantry items which would have been nice to have -- sugar, spices, etc.
The property only provided 6 very worn/thin towels for showering. There is a beautiful washer/dryer in the unit, but no detergent which made the quantity/quality of the towels that much more frustrating.
The furniture and the property itself is all quite worn down. While the space was clean, it is in dire need of new paint and freshening up in the bathrooms. There was mold in the caulking around the sink in the upstairs bathroom and the toilet seats have signs of wear and tear. The sofa in the living room is very lived-in and has some stains. In the main living area, there are not any lamps, only harsh overhead lighting, which made it difficult to relax. The master only had outlets on one side of the bed.
Had I known that the space was lacking in these areas, I would not have booked this property. It was like booking a room at the Marriott only to arrive at a Motel 6.
