Unique rooms that are private, clean and comfortable. Staff is extremely helpful. Breakfast was awesome. Only drawback is the gravel paths to the rooms which can leave one vulnerable to the climate when the weather is not nice.

Beautiful getaway on Isle of Skye
This is a great hotel located on the hillside above Portree. The cost of the best view (in addition to room charges) is a very long walk up the hill. The facilities are very nice. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Food and drink are excellent. Breakfast is included and tasty.

The cabins were pristine, as was the property. Views were wonderful. The breakfasts were amazing. Give the Full Scottish breakfast a try. My only wish: a shuttle service up to the cabins, after a whisky flight in the Bracken Hide Pup, the top tier walk is a wee bit much, a real gaser!

Lovely pods!
We stayed in a log cabin 'pod' which was lovely. Comfortable and clean. The main hotel part was where we went for breakfast (which was excellent). We had to walk from the car park up the hill to our pod but they took our bags up by golf buggy. The view was fantastic. It was a 20 minute walk onto town (but we could have driven and parked in town).

This is one of the most beautiful properties I have ever seen. Paul, our server was so attentive and made us feel at home. The hike up to the cabin can be a lot, but the views are totally worth it. It's the only place I want to stay if I ever return.

We loved our stay at the Bracken Hide. Since we were too far from town to make our dinner reservations, we were excited that they offered dining on the premises. We ate at the restaurant both nights, and these were our favorite meals of our two week trip! I did express to the check-in clerk that someone needs to take into consideration the age and ability of the guests checked into the upper level of this property. We are in our 60s/70s, and the trip up to #2 was difficult--especially in the pouring rain both days. A unit nearer the bottom would have been perfect for us old folks! Would definitely stay here again!

This is the 1st time I've had to give less then 5 stars in review. 1st off the lady that checked us in and was also the Bartender was GREAT!! Everything else wasn't. The Breakfast was a great but the service was horrible. Rude, un pleasant. The table for yogurt was a not taken care, no yogurt, rolls laying on the floor plates empty with no selection. Our room had a terrific view and shower but again not totally clean, and not restocked properly, like no new cream for morning coffee. 1 Bed side light didn't work and no Kleenex, they brought new Kleenex and repaired the lite which became a strobe lite so why bother. My opinion is they need someone to oversee and check that the staff is doing things correctly and with professionalism and pride. It's a service industry and they are falling short which makes it or breaks it.

The place is so interesting and different with the individual pods. The main building is beautiful and the bar has a massive selection of scotch. There’s even a free sauna that you can book. The breakfast was great as well. My ONLY complaint is that if you have one of the pods at the top of the hill, you have to walk up and it’s a hike! The only upside is that they have the best views. Overall I would recommend for the experience.

Beautiful glamping pod hotel
These are essentially glamping pods. They are so nicely designed and decorated. Very cozy. They even had face clothes, the only hotel on the entire trip that did. I have learned to pack my own for trips to the UK. The only downside was that we had to park in a car park and walk up a hillside on uneven gravel to reach the unit. They took our luggage up in a golf cart. But they wouldn't offer a ride to us. As seniors, it was a bit of a drawback for us.

In some respects, it was a mixed bag. We had clear expectations there was some walking to the main building and that was fine. We liked our cabin (minus when the mini-fridge started smoking -- and we removed it for safety and didn't get a replacement, but did get free drinks). Our cabin was clean and we were right by the brook with sheep so the views were great. Overall service was mostly good, albeit slow sometimes despite not being busy. And if you don't have cell service you have to walk down to the main building for help since there are no phones in the room. Unfortunately we booked the sauna, got all robed up and walked down, and then it didn't work. With the schedule we weren't able to find another time. The bar was cool with a good selection and vibes. The robust complimentary breakfast was a true highlight each morning and the wait staff were friendly. But unfortunately one morning there was a loud, major fight with foul language from the kitchen staff, which was pretty awkward. It definitely felt like some of the staff didn't want to be there and we heard some complain a lot, while others were truly lovely.
