Excellent location right next to gunwarf shopping centre, bus stop and taxi rank outside.
Family ensuite room clean and spacious.
Lovely view overlooking spinnaker tower and boats.
Tasty breakfast, cereal, toast, pastries and full English.
This place was a dungeon. Not a room above a pub. A back storage closet that they popped a bed in. Heater would not turn on. Smelled of cigarettes ( I suspect the employees didn’t want to go outside to smoke because of the rain so they smoked in hallway which filled the room ). The internet did not work at all. We had no phone service. The parking was a farce! Pay for this pass and find a parking spot in this B area. Call the number if you have problems but they assumed we had local numbers so that didn’t work. At check in there was no one there at the pub to help, I had to walk in rain to their sister hotel to get the keys. Paid for three days up front - Don’t do that! Was so tired slept one night in the musty dank room and went to sister hotel to eat breakfast and check out. They refused to refund the next two days. Said I should have called them to report all my problems. How could I? No phone service. They paid for my breakfast - small gesture - and offered to move me to sister hotel. Sister hotel had sign - sorry our wifi is not working! I was not going to deal with these people anymore. Hotels.com tried to help but this place refused to refund the two days still paid for. STAY AWAY! Bed shoved into a room does not make a hotel room. Hotels.com should seriously consider whether they want to work with them again.
P.s. I am usually the one giving four and five stars and overlooking slight errors on the basis of humanity. Not this one. It is my duty to warn you!
Front desk at a different hotel. The other hotel has parking, but in a way treated us like we were "less" because we were staying at the Lady Hamilton. Breakfast and breakfast staff were wonderful!

Can’t fault for one night stay
Basic double en-suite room in 2 star hotel. Absolutely ok for one night stay. Clean and tidy. Location excellent opposite gun wharf quays. 24 hour parking permit provided at check in , for on street parking in streets around hotel.
Located just feet from the Portsmouth Harbor train station, good restaurants (especially The Ship Anson) and the historic dockyard where you could spend several days touring the ships and museums. The beds were very comfortable and while there was no AC there was a fan which worked well with an open window to draw in the cool air. Breakfast was good, skip the “brown bread” tastes like saw dust. The room refresh was lacking, we had to request additional coffee, the waste basket was not emptied and no hand soap in the bathroom (upon arrival and after refresh, finally had to go to front desk to request). Staff were friendly and polite. Would stay there again.
Absolutely dire hotel - Tiny cramped room and no toilet !!!!! Everyone clearly goes in the sink which is just gross
Very unhappy and gutted I spent any money on this dive
Great staff but they can’t make up for a stingy tight lazy landlord
Easy check in. Room fresh and clean. Coffee/tea and bottled water provided.
Secure too, with 3 locked doors to get through. Didnt pay for breakfast,so can't comment on that. If there was any negative it was the fact it was a communal toilet just down the corridor, but this never bothered me. Some might not be so happy. For the price it was perfect. I'd stay again if I'm in Portsmouth .Close to station and maritime attractions.
A very historic old hotel with an excellent location and a 3-minute walk to the attractions you are interested in.
Strangely, the parking lot downstairs is not the hamilton hotel, but its sister hotel. So drivers have to go to the paid parking lot behind the hotel. It's a little inconvenient.
