This hotel was well-situated for us, as it is within easy reach (apart from a lot of steps - Potenza is a very vertical city!) of Potenza Citta station and the city centre, where we had come for the annual Grande Parata dei Turchi.
The exterior attracts criticism for being dated, but that doesn't bother me: I like the 1970s. Inside, there is a very grand reception and dining room, with artistic statues and a huge bass-relief of Bacchic revels.
The room had traditional solid-wood furniture (no chipboard here!) and was clean and freshly decorated, with a nice bathroom and a lovely view of the green hills beyond the city.
Good continental breakfast, with a wide variety of cold items and hot chocolate croissants.
Staff were generally warm and friendly.
Not ultra-modern, which suited me fine: I would be happy to come back.
