Located at 1,980 meters above sea level, the Passo Rolle pass connects San Martino di Castrozza with the other Dolomite valleys. The town consists of a small inhabited area with some hotels, restaurants, bars and shops at the foot of the magnificent Pale di San Martino amphitheater, the south-west gateway to the Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The area, dominated by the unmistakable profile of Cimon della Pala (3,186 m), is in summer an excellent starting point for walks, excursions and mountain bike rides. Among the most famous destinations we remember the beautiful Val Venegia, the Colbricon lakes and the Thinking Christ, reachable by following the trek of the same name.
