Only a couple blocks from the ferries to the other Galapagos Islands, this hotel is perfectly located. I could not say more about the hosts' generosity and hospitality!! I had a large and lovely balcony overlooking the quiet street below. On the top floor of the hotel is an amazing common area with a balcony which gives a magnificent view of the harbor area. At a very affordable price, this hotel is a diamond in the rough!!

Comfortable convenient and customer friendly
This was a sweet mom and pop place that I am so happy to support. Carlos who I believe is the owner was incredibly kind. The location was also incredibly convenient. If you need the late hour service of a big hotel you won’t find that here but I needed a comfortable convenient place to stay with great service and that was definitely here.

The hotel was fantastic. Clean and close to everything. Everyone was very helpful, even when my dad got sick on our trip. Overall it was a great place to stay for the price.

Loved my 5-night stay here! The staff was so lovely, polite and helpful. Room was nice and big for a single traveller. Loved the balcony and the pillows were confortable. Only down sides were the water pressure of the shower and the noise coming from the street and the school across the street. But still, would go back anytime :)

Carlos was very informative about what there was to do in the area, and for almost exclusive English speakers like us, a pleasant surprise. The room was bright and airy with a luxurious balcony lined with bouganvillae. Located a couple of minutes walk from Charles Darwin Avenue and about 15 minutes from the museum/center and 3-minutes walk from the the port/malécon.

Jose was lovely and the property was in a very good location, close to the marina. There were also two delicious restaurants downstairs, one open until 9 PM. However, it was a very basic three star hotel room. Our room backed onto a school, which was very noisy early in the morning and they played football late into the evening. Decent value for a rustic, basic stay.

Fantastic hotel and reception that goes above and beyond to answer any questions, help in any way and make you feel like you are part of the family. Hotel has a common area/kitchen with cooking capabilities and fridge available for all guests to use which was a very nice bonus!

The Posada Del Mar is a wonderful, eclectic, family owned, well maintained, beautiful, peaceful and relaxing hotel near all activities in town. The street and nearby cafe made for a wonderful and memorable visit in Puerto Ayora. It was the icing on the cake!
