Okay, this was our second stay here. This hotel is in a great location and this is why we came back. Also the hotel's biggest asset is it's staff particularly restaurant and beach staff. This really showed on the day of the firebombs where they really stepped up to the plate and were amazing. Can't thank them enough for what they did. With that said , the rooms need up dating. The dresser in our room was awful - drawers sticking and just old. The safe key/lock was deformed and really difficult to lock and unlock. And even though it was reported twice nobody came The rooms really need a small fridge. If we'd had a small fridge we would have had some snacks to see us through the shutdown when the hotel ran out of food and we weren't allowed out. The pool is missing loads of.tiles. There are pool rules.which state no glassware at the pool and no reserving of loungers. However there are clearly regulars who come here every year and think the rules.dont apply to them. We remember them from last time we stayed. Loungers were claimed with a towel at 8 am then they went off for breakfast and a walk around town returning late morning to the claimed lounger and nothing was done about it. It was very frustrating and the primary reason we won't be returning. If you are going to post rules then please enforce them. The guys who set out the beach chairs were amazing and so hard working. It was such a shame about the fire bombing because the people who suffer are the hard working locals

the room was near the street and the early morning noise woke me up way too early. Some of the staff were less than friendly. The cost of replacing my arm band was to expensive. I would not likely stay there again.

The Tropicana is a resort hotel where all amenities are steps from your room - restaurant, pools, beach and a convenience store across the street. Very well maintained and clean everywhere. 4 blocks from the Olas Altas bars, clubs, restaurants, shops and entertainment. Location is perfect. Extremely friendly and diverse guest composition, couples (straight & gay),families, people travelling on their own. I was travelling on my own for the first time and never was alone. Had SO much fun!
