In an idyllic private olive grove by the Ionian Sea, among olive trees, cypresses and pines, lies the restored 1920 Mercouri stone cottage.
The property is situated in Korakohori (Western Peloponnese, Ilia Prefecture), 3.8km from the picturesque harbor of Katakolon and 29km from Ancient Olympia, the birthplace of the ancient Olympic Games.
It is part of the renowned Mercouri Estate with a long tradition in the production of excellent wines and special extra virgin olive oil since 1860. The olive grove is actually 1km distance from the winery.
The space:
The cottage has two floors.
On the upper floor there are two bedrooms, one with a double-bed and the other with two single beds. In harmony with the owners’ environmental awareness, both rooms use ceiling fans rather than air-conditioners.
The building itself offers adequate thermal insulation, due to its very thick stone walls.
Downstairs is the living room with a sofa that can easily be transformed into a double-bed when needed, a fireplace, a dining table and a fully equipped kitchen.
On the ground floor there is one large bathroom and a smaller bathroom. Free wireless internet access and TV are provided.
A timber terrace is constructed adjacent to the house, with spectacular views to the sea, to the foreshores of Kyllini and on a clear day to the islands of Zakynthos and Kefallonia. Enjoy your wine while the sun slowly sinks into the sea right in front of your eyes!
Guest access:
The whole cottage and all the 35 acres farm around it, are here for you to enjoy!
So are the two 'private' beaches, accessed on foot, through the farm.
If big sandy and crowded beaches are to your liking you can easily access the famous Levendohori beach by car as it is only 3km away.
