The hotel’s location is unbeatable, and although the building is old, it’s generally well maintained. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful, and I appreciated their service. However, one staff member completely ruined my experience and cast a shadow over my entire trip. I’ve already submitted a formal complaint about this person directly to the hotel, so I won’t go into further detail here. Looking back, I honestly wish I had spent an extra hundred dollars and stayed at the Fairmont instead. I’m sure this hotel will continue to do well given its prime location and historic charm, but personally, I would never return. Also, just for others to be aware — there is no elevator. That wasn’t an issue for me, but it’s good to know in advance. One more thing: the water temperature in the shower kept switching unpredictably between hot and cold, which made it really uncomfortable.

Had a wonderful stay. Staff are so friendly and willing to help if needed. Parking was right beside hotel, and although it was a bit tricky fetting to the hotel (not hotel's fault :) given street closures around the area, once you get theee, you can walk everywhere in Old Town. Hotel was clean, although some of the carpets could use a little updating, it is a 200 year old property andthe character of the building is lovely. Would definitely stay here again.

What a charming old hotel. We loved how close it was to everything and it was clean. You could smell the fresh sheets and pillows. The hotel staff was nice and had little touches like fruit out and baskets of treats in the rooms. One note- because it’s an old home, there are no elevators and it could be up several flights of stairs. The staff does offer to help carry up luggage though. We liked that it was on the boardwalk yet still quiet and cozy. Would recommend to anyone to stay here. A great hotel to enjoy the city from.

We spent 4 nights at this property. The location was prime, with many things within walking distance, and the Chateau just steps away. The accommodation was comfortable and we enjoyed things like the snacks that were refilled everyday, and the convenient AC unit. Some things for improvement/to note are that rooms are only cleaned when requested, the shower door in our washroom would not remain closed, and the soap was not refilled. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Recommend this hotel here for a convenient stay.

I guess you get what you pay for Couldn’t ask for a better location in the shadow of the Fairmont Frontenac The hotel is a little shabby but charming We must have booked the cheapest room as it was tiny and basically had to climb a ladder to the bathroom It was a scorching hot day and our ac did not work and the windows were painted shut After two requests to have it fixed, they reluctantly moved us up two flights of stairs to a large cool room with a great views So if you can, book a room on a higher floor There is no elevator and you feel like you are climbing up narrow castle steps (one way only-no room for two) but so much better Pack light! Parking was great (but not free)

Warmth and charms.

A great stay. The building is very old and at first i was taken aback by some of it's quirks like very low ceiling in the bathroom but it quickly grew on me. It has a warmth few hotels can match. The staff was amazing there's a little living area at the back that offers a nice secluded space to relax outside. The area the hotel is in couldn't be better. Its a few meters from Chateau Frontenac and the view is to die for.

We were greeted by Amelie who was amazing Along w the whole staff. Room was small, basic, yet had a balcony we didn’t expect and was very clean. Location at the end of the boardwalk with parking at a dead end. Felt very safe and comfortable there. Amelie also gave us tickets to the Music Festival. I highly recommend staying here if you want a safe, convenient and don’t mind steps but that’s just part of charm of Quebec City.

The location of the property is perfect!! It is right next door to the Fairmont Chateau de Frontenec, with the boardwalk right outside the hotel. It is walking distance to the old city, with many shops and restaurants nearby. There was a fridge, microwave, coffee pot, and the staff refilled the snacks daily. The rooms were dated with very small showers, but this can easily be overlooked as it is clean and so close to everything in the old city.
Our hotel with the Chateau Frontenac behind- perfect location!

It was clean and in a good location with a friendly staff but thats it's only good qualities. Its outdated, worn and lacks modern amenities. One outlet in the bedroom, no central ac portable one was provided but the hose kept falling out. Hot water was intermittent while showering. The stairs are steep with no elevator. If you have mobility issues this isn't a good choice.

If you want to be in the middle of everything in Quebec City, but also have a quiet sleep, I'd recommended this place. We found the staff welcoming and kind, and were comfortable during our stay. There is a little kitchen and patio available to relax and for guests to use. Thanks for the snacks and treats! A lovely surprise!

This hotel is in a great location, walkable to everything! Once you are in Quebec City you will not have to drive at all. The hotel is in a very old building with a lot of character. We stayed in a family room, 2 full size beds with a sleep sofa. W Diane open the sleep sofa because my granddaughter just wanted to sleep on the couch. The beds were ok, not super uncomfortable but not super comfortable. The room was spacious and clean. There is a single cup coffee maker with cups and coffee pods. They leave snacks and drinks for you in the mini fridge. The bathroom is very small but has what you need. There was a hair dryer and an ironing board but no iron, they probate one you can use. There were plenty of umbrellas to use if you didn’t have one. This is not a fancy hotel but it was comfy and clean and everyone that works there is super nice. Parking was $25 Canadian per day. I wound recommend this hotel behold the location and I would stay here again in the future.

We loved our stay at this quaint hotel! The location was ideal, within an easy walk of all areas of the Old City, but away from the hustle of the busy streets. It is a historic building, so guests should be aware that there is no elevator and the rooms are not huge. But the employees were kind and helpful, the parking was very convenient, and the atmosphere was fantastic. Important to note that the office is not open 24/7, so you need to touch base with them regarding your arrival time.
