The hotel’s location is unbeatable, and although the building is old, it’s generally well maintained. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful, and I appreciated their service.
However, one staff member completely ruined my experience and cast a shadow over my entire trip. I’ve already submitted a formal complaint about this person directly to the hotel, so I won’t go into further detail here.
Looking back, I honestly wish I had spent an extra hundred dollars and stayed at the Fairmont instead. I’m sure this hotel will continue to do well given its prime location and historic charm, but personally, I would never return.
Also, just for others to be aware — there is no elevator. That wasn’t an issue for me, but it’s good to know in advance.
One more thing: the water temperature in the shower kept switching unpredictably between hot and cold, which made it really uncomfortable.
