This memorable place is anything but ordinary. The Bird House was hand build with locally harvested trees milled on site & about 70% up-cycled materials. This little home was wholeheartedly created with love & care for our guests. We are offering an experience that we were always searching for on our travels. A place to heal the body, clear the mind and open the heart. A place to remember.

We welcome you to come have an experience in our handbuilt cottage style tiny house! Sitting on 5acres of land next to the awe inspiring Sangre de Cristo mountains. As you walk in on our hand made "cobblestone" path, you will enter into the cottage. The living space is about 200 sq. feet with an added super tall A-frame loft!! There's a small kitchen with a two burner stove, small fridge and on demand water source. Next to the wood stove you will see a stone tiled "coffee/work" space where you can sit by the window and gaze at the nature around you. A pull out couch provides a place for people to sleep. Next you will find we created a relaxing, nature immersed hot tub area attached to an indoor/outdoor porch. As you walk down the trail right outside of the hot tub area you will find the outhouse where there is a shower, compost toilet and a sink. We recently built an extra room (A-frame) with a king bed for those people who want to sleep with the feeling of being close to nature. Within the fenced yard area there is a fire pit seating area. Many trails in the back yard to roam around in the nature of this land. Silent nights perfect for stargazing.
We do live on a dirt road that is not county maintained. All vehicles accessible but a note to drive slow 8)
Make yourself comfortable in this air-conditioned cottage, which features a fireplace and a Smart TV. There's a private patio. A kitchen is outfitted with a stovetop. Complimentary wireless internet access is available to keep you connected.

Magical / Enchanting Get-away
The Birdhouse is one of the most amazing places my wife and I have ever stayed at! Brittni and Ricki are amazing people they're extremely humble and accommodating they paid extra attention to all of our needs and went above and beyond! We had homemade chocolate chip cookies waiting for us upon arrival not to mention fresh eggs and bread everyday!! Our 3rd wedding anniversary was extremely special we both highly recommend everyone to stay here it's one of the most peaceful and beautiful places we loved our stay it's amazing what Brittni and Ricki have created at the Birdhouse!!

Best place for peace and quiet.
Amazing, exactly as it was described. The bed ,WOW. I slept so good I did not want to wake up. The telescope to view the stars was fantastic. I thought the extra room outside was like a fairies room. The overall vibe was so peaceful. I will definitely try to come back again.

This is a very special place, with very special hosts. This cottage goes way beyond just being a place to stay -- it is also a place to relax, renew, reflect, and reconnect. The hosts' attention to detail is phenomenal, and the property itself is unique and inviting. The spacious and private yard is fantastic -- a cornhole game, a fire pit, a bbq grill, a hot tub ... definitely a place to hang out and relax. We recommend that guests bring food to prepare on site in the well-equipped kitchen, as the restaurant options nearby are limited (though there are some a short drive away). No need to bring breakfast food, though -- the hosts deliver eggs and homemade bread to the cottage every morning! We wish we had booked a longer stay, and we definitely plan to return!

A memorable stay
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this birdhouse. The fresh homemade bread and eggs were a delightful touch, and the abundance of indoor plants created a welcoming atmosphere. The hot tub was consistently hot, and the unique bathroom added a charming touch to the experience. Amenities were decent, and the pet-friendly environment made it perfect for our happy dogs. The communication and hospitality from the hosts were amazing.
