A Lovely 2 Bed Holiday Home with Beautiful Garden
We, an English couple, stayed 2-16 June 2018 and had a very enjoyable stay at this simple but very practical 2 bed holiday home located in the 'suburbs' of Quiberon, an easy 10 minute walk to the Grand Plage and its restaurants.
1. Dominique's mother lives in the house next door and whilst you can park outside the gate to unload suitcases etc, you park your car on a large parking space around the corner immediately by her mother's house.
2. The house has new double-glazed aluminium windows and doors so security is good and you can either fully open the two bedroom windows or tilt them (at night we tilted them).
3. The hot water/heating system supplies very hot water very quickly to the kitchen, the hot water takes longer to arrive at the other end of the house where the toilette and the separate shower room are located.
4.I know how expensive a new toilette and/or shower room would be but really these two rooms need refurbishing. The shower head doesn't always stay in place but more importantly the shower is weak. No doubt Dominique would have to charge more per week so maybe most clients are happy with the existing toilette and shower room?
5. The house is lovely and light and the large sliding door that leads into the kitchen makes it very easy to pop in and out to the garden. The garden is a real treat and contains shrubs, flowers and plants so not only is it a lovely place to spend time in but it also has a private feel.
6. The large picture window with the sofa and two chairs (next to the kitchen diner) is very useful as the sofa and chairs are comfortable and thanks to the large window, you can see lots of the garden.
7. The outside chairs are great but when it rains the chair material gets very wet and in cooler months the chairs stay wet for a longer time so we kept 2 in the kitchen.
8. There were a few mosquitoes so bring an electric device, we both got bitten, then used our device at night!
9. The Carrefour in the main street is excellent and has fresh milk unlike the Lidl.
10. The Vannes Wednesday marche is worth a visit, as is the Carnac & Quiberon marche.
11. For anyone else, not French, the Hotel de Ville (opposite the Tourist Office) hand out FREE yellow sacks for some of the house rubbish. The notice by the front door explains about rubbish days, local shopping and the marche days.
12. No Wi-Fi in the house but the Tourist Office provides free Wi-Fi
We had a lovely holiday and completely recommend Dominique's maison.
