The Fern Cave at Caprock Canyons

The Fern Cave, named after a hiking destination in Caprock Canyons, is a small (approximately 14’ x 18’) tiny cabin. It is a studio-style cabin, furnished with a queen-size bed and twin bunk beds. It sleeps 4 people. It has a bathroom with a shower, sink, and toilet.

There is no kitchen or kitchen sink, but there is a compact refrigerator (smaller than a standard fridge, but bigger than a mini-fridge), microwave, coffeemaker, Roku TV, and an outdoor area with a gas grill. This cabin has a window A/C and heating unit.

Perfect for caprock canyons

Was exactly right for me and my two daughters to stay in while visiting caprock. Cute little group of tiny homes literally a couple of minutes away from the park! Bring your own food though! Not much open close by in the way of restaurants, but there is a grill available at the home!

About as close to Caprock Canyon as you can get

Excellent little cabin, very clean with a comfortable bed and internet access. Grounds were quiet and well maintained, and the entrance to the state park is just around the corner.

Perfect Canyon Getaway

The house was easy to find and in the perfect location for Caprock Canyon. We ate at Hotel Turkey on Friday night which was a short 10 minute drive away and then enjoyed our evening at the cabin before our early morning hike on Saturday.

Cabin for the Canyon

This is the perfect place to stay when visiting Caprock. It's just a short drive outside the park and super convenient. Everything was very neat and clean. The pictures don't do the cabin justice. The area was very quiet and peaceful. Thanks Tracy, we had a great stay.

Cozy, clean, & close (to the park)

The Fern Cave Tiny House was a sturdy little hideaway from the strong winds of the Texas panhandle. We would have welcomed a little more heat the 1st night when the temps were down in the 30s but it warmed up with the sunshine of the next afternoon. The refrigerator and freezer were appreciated. The house was as clean as could be. The bed was comfy and cozy too.

This property is so convenient to Caprock Canyon State Park. After a day of hiking, relaxing on the porch and the coziness of the cabin was very welcome. I would add that the cabin looks nice on the website but even better in person. We had a locked out emergency due to us and they were excellent in helping us. My wife commented almost immediately, why didnt we stay here longer?

We enjoyed our stay. We went so we could stargaze and it was well worth it! Very little light pollution with a new moon. We could see the Milky Way a little bit. As for the cabin, it was comfy and had everything we needed. The water pressure was excellent and better than expected! We enjoyed our stay.

Fern cave is very conveniently located between Caprock Canyon State Park and Quitaque. It is nicely appointed and had everything we needed for our stay. We would definitely stay here during future visits to the area.

Great cabin in a great location.

Thank you for providing such a great place to stay. It was clean and had everything we needed. You really made the most of the space, it is well designed and fully equipped down to the details, including kitchen utensils, towels, etc. And everything works, most importantly the AC! It was a little noisy but I realize that window units are like that. The only thing that could make it better is to install a "mini-split" system. Thanks again, The Barbers

Darling tiny house!

We had a great time in Quitaque in the tiny house! Love the proximity to Caprock Canyon and the cleanliness of the house. There was a bit of a water problem and they fixed it right away. And the workers were friendly and funny. We were all joking around. So… do I recommend staying here? YES!

Great holiday weekend getaway

We were visiting Caprock Canyon State Park for the 1st time. Wonderful hiking, lots of active wildlife to see as well as some beautiful scenery and flowers. The location of this Tiny Cabin was perfect (2 miles down the road). It was very comfortable, very clean and had everything we needed to make meals there as there are only a couple of options down the way in the tiny town of Quitaque for breakfast and lunch, nothing we saw for dinner. So meal plan and bring things you can cook as they have an outdoor grill! We definitely plan on coming back and bringing our 2 sons with us as there is a bunkbed too!
