The front desk person mumbled. Hard to hear. Didn't get off his stool for the 4 people checking in. Mo smile or greeting. Additional #100 deposit the site didn't mention. Room phone didn't work. Room hot. AC turned off when arrived. Sounded like gun shots behind the motel. Not directed to closes elevator or any elevator by front desk personnel & my 84 yo Mom walked to q end only to find our room at the other end of the hallway. Bathing supplies in shower had useage written with markers? Didn't look that clean either. Furniture scratched & tub has small cracks.

Bathroom was a little ran down. Staff didn't speak clear English. Didn't know there was a deposit fee of $100 until I was there. It's refunded back to your card in 3-5 business days instead of just given back to you. No oral hygiene products given. Lamp outlets could not hold any plug in it. The outside had a lot of cracked pavement and parking was tight sometimes. Average hotel experience but not bad for the price point at all.

Dirty washcloth was left in bathroom over shower rod.The bath spigot slowly dripped nonstop. The sink was clogged and backed up. The front desk was told yet no one fixed it. No one came to clean room or bring fresh linens. I had to go to desk to get my own towels .The furniture looked very worn like it was old and not refurbished.

The pictures are deceiving. The hotel is really old. They didnt even provide soap in the bathroom. No room service as in they didnt even make the bed or change the towels. There was no breakfast contrary to what was advertised.

Sonji was very personable and helpful. I had my dog with me and he assisted me with items I had to bring inside. Good conversation and a nice, friendly guy. Only issue was that microwave nor the phone were working in the room. The room was otherwise very comfortable, quiet, clean and sanitary. I requested a hair dryer and initally there was none available. However, within the hour, one was delivered to my room. I didn’t catch the name of the gentleman at the desk upon checkout, but he, too, was nice and friendly. Btw, this property was formerly a Marriott, so I had an upscale stay on a Red Roof budget! I definitely recommend and will be back whenever I visit my hometown, the Bull City!

Black Mold.
I tossed and turned all night. I thought my allergy was flaring up, coughing and sneezing throughout the night. I woke up took a shower and opened the curtains only to glance over at the air-conditioned unit. It was covered with Black mold, along with the curtain and the side of the desk that was in from of it. I have a upper respiratory condition that was obviously affected.
