I really liked this hotel . We were able to walk to a concert we were seeing during our visit . Love the retro feel of the bar/lounge area. The area around the hotel was walkable and very nice . The staff was very friendly and accommodating .
The motel is and lounge are clean and obviously well updated givien how long the building has been there. However, the location is right along a busy road with traffic running alongside of the motel all day and night. The noise that the traffic creates can not be understated. I certainly understand that there is nothing that can be done about this but i just was unaware at the time of booking, and my first night was shocked by how loud it was in the room. Overall, i was not unhappy with the motel itself, offers coffee in the morning and service is nice.

I stay here regularly. I recommend if you want safe hotel with easy access. Nice robe, comfy bed, and clean.
This is an older style hotel that’s updated. The rooms were very clean, comfy bed. They had an great bar. It’s walkable to downtown and museums and restaurants.
The Longleaf Hotel was an amazing stay. We both loved the mid-century modern vibe. The staff members were great, the room was excellent and very clean, the bed and pillows were so comfortable. We will definitely be staying again on our next visit to Raleigh.
Very cool, retro renovated hotel. Lots of history and stories here I'm sure! The decor was minimal but very fitting of the 60s timeframe when this hotel was probably in its heyday. The reception associate was very kind when i checked in. I was traveling alone on business and she made sure i was in a room that had an internal hallway access vs the outside access. Great lounge and coffee bar in the lobby - a perk for sure and nice place to work.
Renovated motel. Not terrible, but not really clean either. We didn’t complain much because we were only staying room for a few hours. My wife and daughter wouldn’t even use shower.
Was in town for the women’s NCAA soccer championship in neighboring Cary. The hotel is a repurposed Travelodge but thankfully none of the corridors where rooms are located are exposed to the elements. Each hallway has a water/ice station which works very well for filling water bottles. The room was just the right size for a solo traveler and had some good amenities, including earplugs which came in handy. If you have a room parallel to Dawson St, you will have vehicular noise at all hours of the night (and also I could hear noise from other rooms/the bar late into the night). In the mornings there is free coffee in the bar area along with pastries for purchase, but you will have to go outside to get there (which is not ideal if it is freezing outside). The first morning I was there they were out of pastries by 7:15, but the second morning I had a very good apple turnover. If you’re looking for something more substantial, however, you’ll have to go elsewhere. Location-wise, the state capitol grounds and most of Raleigh’s attractions are about a 15-minute walk away and there are good places to eat nearby. Overall, I would stay here again because of the location and relative price compared to the other options in the area.
