We loved our family stay at Sand Hotel in the centre of Reykjavik. We were a family of five, the location was so convenient, the staff were friendly and knowledgable, the beds super comfortable plus I would highly reccomend adding the breakfast which set us up each day. When we come back from Sydney we will definately be back.

The Sand hotel was great - SO centrally located, we could walk everywhere from our hotel, and the hotel bar was cute and convenient on a cold night. Breakfast was GREAT and the staff were very professional and extremely nice. Our room even had a little balcony - so cute! Spacious and extremely clean and convenient. We would stay there again for sure.

Excellent hotel in the heart of Reykjavik - short walk to all of the main attractions, great breakfast to start the day. Rooms a little on the small side, but would stay here again.

Lovely hotel and great location. Only thing to note is that breakfast is from 7am and majority of day excursions start at 7am, meaning you cannot have breakfast at the hotel. When I spoke with the receptionist they offered to box a breakfast up for a cost an equivalent to £25. I found this quite disappointing as I paid for breakfast when booking and only had it 1 out of 3 days.

Wonderful hotel. Stayed in a single room. Only negative was storage. No night tables, closet, or storage in bathroom. Would be great to have shelf over pedestal sink to put your toothbrush and cup. It wouldn't cost much for them to put some hooks on the wall so you can hang up your coat and other clothes.

When my only complaint is lack of hooks for drying wet gear, I know I have had an excellent stay! The Sand has everything you want: excellent staff, modern clean rooms with marble bathroom, beautiful down bedding, and the free breakfast cannot be beat! This lovely spot is easy to walk to from bus stop number 14 and is surrounded by great restaurants and shops. It was my perfect central location and I will be back!

Excellent location, hotel had cute boutique vibe, room was small but the bed was so comfortable! But the highlight was the breakfast in the morning - best we had during the 9 day trip. We would go to Iceland again just for that breakfast again.
