The food was good and at affordable prices. The location is nice, with nice valley views. The room was pretty run down, and the linens even had a big hole.
Based on the options in the area, which are limited, I think it is an average option.
The flora on the grounds was beautiful. Great mt views, good resturant with excellent service. I would recommend the cabins as they are quiet and more roomy.
This grounds of this property are beuatiful. It is as amazing as the surrounding area and the drive up to the property. It is peaceful and relaxing with views of the Talamanca mountains. The room was clean and comfortable. I would suggest some upgrades in the rooms to match the beautiful of the grounds outside. Even without the upgrades, I would certainly return, as the service, staff and experience was pleasant and unique. I loved walking in the gardens.
The location of this property is gorgeous. The grounds are extremely well maintained and the owners/managers are friendly and helpful with a view to sustainability and the environment as well as super knowledgeable on the area wildlife and terrain.
Great location, very relaxing up in the foothills of the chirripo range. We were surrounded by an abundance of birds and plants which helped us to really enjoy our stay. We instantly booked another night on arrival and only wish we could have stayed a little longer. We enjoyed the short trail in the hill behind the property, swimming in the pool and visiting the cloudbridge reserve. The owner was very welcoming and excited to teach us about the birds we could see and hear by our cabin. All the staff spoke good english and were very helpful. The restaurant was well priced and we had some lovely meals and breakfast there. Solar heater provided very hot water for the shower and all the room was cold enough to not need AC.
Stayed in the cabin, excellent views of the mountains. Cabin was nice and roomy, with additional seating outside on the lawn, and a hammock on the patio. The TV did not work (screen said the system needs to be reset after a storm/power outage) but we did care about watching it so we did not aske the staff for the reset. Pool very nice, very good breakfast. The reception sells the excellent Chiripo coffee for less than the original vendor at the Valley Cafe in San Isidro. Would definitely stay again.
Got a room in the main building despite booking a cabin, the staff was very sorry for that and gave us free breakfast to mitigate the issue. The room was OK and for the price (significantly lower than the cabin) a very good value. The property has amazing views of the Cerro Chirripó and surroundung mountains, the garden is beautiful and the pool was a nice touch. Would stay again.

Amazing food, attentive staff, and incredible property nestled in nature. The cabin was magical as the rain and thunder rolled in with a fresh evening breeze.
This is a place we’d visit again, only we’d try to stay in one of the little cabins rather than in the rooms of the main building. The staff was friendly, the food creatively different and tasty. The setting was lovely and peaceful. The area is very hilly and spread out so a vehicle is very handy for getting around otherwise be prepared to walk in mountainous terrain. The hotel is a bird magnet and you can spot many species from the grounds.
Across from the main building is a little museum filled with the patriarch’s very clever wood carvings. The matriarch was the original cook and now the restaurant is named for her. One of the sons took us out bird watching and he was SHARP! We always appreciate a family run business
Delightful experience, we booked there to hike Chirripo but would definitely stay there again to enjoy the hotel more.
Food was delicious and the staff was absolutely amazing (to the extent they went to fish some trouts especially for us when we ordered them at the restaurant as they didn’t have any left, to make sure we would have very fresh fish before our hike)
Super convenient and easy going, shuttle service to the start of the trail for Chirripó, and they even let us leave our car within the hotel and shower when we came back while we were supposed to have checked out already.
Definitely a 5 star service.
