This warm, inviting and recently renovated Rockaway Beach getaway sits on the west side of Highway 101, just across a quiet street from miles of sandy beach. Perfect for memorable family vacations, this three bedroom cottage is filled with cozy charm and nestled between a natural wetland pond and the ocean in the popular southern area of town. From the moment you first drive up, you'll be charmed by the beachy exterior and big front porch, complete with Adirondack chairs for sitting back and relaxing with a morning cup of coffee!

Once inside, there's ample coastal character, with ship replicas on the mantle, a white paneled ceiling, and seashells decorating the tables; but, you'll also find a touch of traditional style courtesy the oriental rugs and hardwood floors. There's a colorful brick wood fireplace so bring some wood with you, cable TV with DVD player, comfy seating, and room for the whole family to spread out and watch a movie or find their own quiet place to curl up with a good book.

The full kitchen is well-stocked with all the appliances, pots and pans, dishes, cooking utensils, and dinnerware you need to serve a group of hungry beachcombers. Pick up some fresh seafood at the market and whip up a delicious fish dinner in no time! There's even a dishwasher for easy clean-up. The full-sized washer and dryer are also located in the kitchen and ready for your wet beach clothes after a day of exploring.

A formal dining room has ample seating for meals or there's plenty of space on the back deck to have an outdoor feast. Accessed through a glass door from the kitchen, the deck is outfitted with an outdoor table and patio umbrella for shade. After spending the day at the beach, fire up the gas grill and cook up some juicy burgers for a laid-back summer barbecue. And, after the kids have gone to bed, you can spend cool, clear evenings on the deck with a glass of wine.

This home has three bedrooms and one full bath, all located on one level. Two of the bedrooms contain trundle day beds, each with its own collection of colorful throw pillows. With flexibility in mind, these beds can convert into two twin-sized beds, perfect for two younger kids to share a room, or stay as a single twin bed for an older child. These rooms are decorated pleasingly for maximum comfort, with dressers, reading lamps, and soft bedding. The couch in the living room converts to a queen-sized pull-out sofa bed for extra sleeping options.

The third bedroom has a full-sized bed with a cozy comforter, bedside table, reading lamp, and a window that lets in lots of natural light. It has a vintage, vintage-chic feel that will have its occupants feeling soothed and contented in no time. With its three bedrooms, this cute little cottage will sleep everyone comfortably. It's also dog-friendly as well, so bring your furry family member along for some quality time playing in the surf for an additional fee.

While this cottage is definitely welcoming and very comfortable, one of the best features is its prime location. Right off the back patio and yard is a large, natural wetland pond with lily pads, aquatic plants, and other scenic features. A very relaxing afternoon can be had watching the kids play in the back or being on the lookout for great blue herons out in the pond.

With beach access right across the street, you are literally steps from miles of pristine sandy beach. Spend the day building sand castles, flying kites, looking for shells, or simply laying out under a big umbrella. The cottage is also located only a half mile north of one of the most recognizable views in Rockaway Beach: Twin Rocks. Be sure to bring your camera for some stunning sunset pictures starring this geologic feature.

Want a little change from all the peacefulness of your beach cottage? Head about a mile north and hit the quaint downtown area for shops, restaurants, and galleries. Stock up on local saltwater taffy and handcrafted fudge at The Picnic Basket, or maybe start the day with a hearty homemade breakfast at the Whale Spout.

For a fun day trip, drive north up the coast stopping at Wheeler for a little antiquing, Manzanita for lunch at Bread and Ocean, then onto Cannon Beach for an afternoon of hiking in Ecola State Park or gallery-hopping along the picturesque downtown streets.

If you're ready to make some family vacation memories on the Oregon coast, come enjoy this cute and cozy Cottage by the Sea!

Great location
Cute cozy little house in a great quiet location close to the beach. Kitchen and bathrooms were very clean, but being a pet friendly house the comforters on the beds should be cleaned after each visit. I found a nasty smelling dog spot on the main bedroom extra comforter on the foot of the bed. And the house is old so if staying in the winter it gets cold in the bedrooms due to no central heating, but they provide plenty of space heaters. Kitchen is well stocked and there are lots of games and books to entertain you. I love the added touch of the historical black and white photos of the house and its first owners. The only other downfall about this house is that it’s operated by Vacasa. They have less than desirable customer service and are the only company I know that only provides a “starter kit” of two rolls of toilet paper for your stay…the rest is up to you to provide. How hard is it to leave a couple extra rolls under the sink??

Lovely, peaceful solitude
Although suitable in size for a family, friend, or sister getaway, I enjoyed a week of solitude free from obligations and stresses. I enjoyed sitting at the bench by the lilly pond in the back yard watching the birds by day and listening to the frogs in the evening. I made it through the whole Debbie Macomber's The Cottage by the Sea book provided, a perfect surprise. With the beach access so close by I could get in a walk between cloud bursts on most days and on clear days enjoy lunch with my toes in the sand while sketching Twin Rocks, front and center. A lovely place to spend my first solo vacation.

This was the perfect little cottage for catching up and hanging out with family. Close enough to hear the ocean and a short walk to the beach and Twin Rocks literally greets you - what a beautiful sunset! I could imagine staying at Cottage by the Sea for weeks and being perfectly content.

Rockaway Beach
Just as an additional note, there were numerous whale trinkets. We are avid scuba divers and cherish any encounters with whales. We lived in Palau an on our surface interval a sperm whales surfaced and hung out with us for 20+ minutes. We also spent 10 days north of the Dominican Republic. Humpbacks travel to the Dominican Republic to calf. We were allowed to snorkel up to the whales. What a very spiritual and wonderful experience. Obviously the whales made our experience very warm. I loved the whale tail towel hooks. What a special rental unit. Larry

Not bad...
The house was clean, just cluttered with furniture. It’s a small house, with enough pieces to furnish a place three times its size. I couldn’t turn around without tripping over something. In the small living room there were two full size couches, two accent chairs, a wooden chair, a dog kennel serving as a table, a full sized dresser, a bakers rack, three ottomans, and five small tables. If the home were decluttered it would be so much better. By the time you bring your luggage in, there’s no room to turn around and our family was constantly tripping over each other. The beds were comfy and I loved that the two rooms with twins had trundles. It made sleeping the kids easy. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to cook our meals. All though the coffee pot was left dirty with used grounds, the rest was clean and ready to use. The home is an easy, short stroll to the beach. We loved our daily walks on the sand! The tv flickers, but we found instructions on how to stop that and they worked! So no worries there. I would revoke having a yard sale and let go of some furniture to make the place great! By the end of our trip I was fantasizing about doing it myself. ;)

Quaint, homey, very comfortable, quiet and close to the beach
Lots of family history in this little bungalow. I could not get enough of the landscaping: huge hydrangea, honeysuckle, and more. The bath and kitchen have been updated and there are plenty of utensils and cookware, all of which is great shape which is not always the case at some rentals. Mattresses were very comfy. Thank you—I wish I was there today

4th of July beach getaway!
Rockaway is perfectly situated for day trips to Cannon Beach, Seaside and Tillamook. The little cottage was nicely decorated as the pictures show and large hydrangea bushes were blooming. We used all 3 bedrooms and one of the couches for 4 adults and a 4 month old. Bedrooms are tiny, just for sleeping. It had a large table in dining room and plenty of seating in the living room. The kitchen was fine and included a stove, microwave, large refrigerator, dishwasher and washer and dryer. It's a short walk to the beach and the Twin Rocks are right there. Rockaway put on an awesome fireworks display in town and one on the beach. They also had a 4th of July parade. I would recommend.

Perfect little cottage for our beach wedding weekend!
This little house was perfect for us! My husband and I were married in a little church in Rockaway Beach. I found this house online on a whim. I needed an affordable house near Rockaway as kind of a base for our little family. Wow! What a gem! More then exceeded my expectations. The old family photographs on the dining room wall of the house and really made the house even more special. I loved the old, cozy feeling. The kitchen was bright and well stocked. Loved the décor. Used the big fireplace 2 nights. Our family of 6 were comfortable. Our 2 4 -year- olds and dog used the large back deck and yard. It was a short walk to the beautiful, secluded, large beach. I loved hearing the frogs in the pond and the crickets. I loved the sound of the train rumbling by. I would highly recommend this house. Also, VRBO was so easy to work with. I had to call a few times. Once when the kennel arrangements for my dog fell through and we ended up having to bring the dog, then when we decided we wanted to extend our stay by one night. I was very impressed with the service and prompt response and how easy they made everything. The whole experience made my wedding weekend even more special.
