I’m not a reviewer and I don’t want to write this because Neil was so nice, but…
The house had a STRONG odor of must and mildew. I mean strong. We almost turned around and left but decided to go to the local Family Dollar and buy candles and plug-in air fresheners and it helped. Although it wasn’t necessarily dirty, it was old and very outdated. I mean how clean can 40yr old carpet be? The main bathroom was very small and had no vent fan so it just holds moisture. I’m 6’3” and could barely sit down. I found the 1/2 bath upstairs to have more legroom.
On the plus side…the cabin is fully stocked with almost anything you would need to clean, cook etc. Batteries, ligh bulbs, paper towels, soaps, matches , lighters, spices, plastic wrap, baggies, cutlery including plastic… you name it and it was there which was greatly appreciated. Firewood waiting by the fire pit was great and we enjoyed that on our last night.
Location was great. 5 min from Laurel Hills State park and 7 Springs but secluded with a big yard and woods behind.
The owner was also fine with us checking in a few hours early and the lockbox/check in process was a breeze.
