From the reviews I read, I really wanted to love this hotel.
When I travel, I don't expect much - a clean comfortable room, a good nights sleep and a good shower. Everything else is not top on my priority list.
Our room was clean and comfortable, the staff were great, very helpful. The air con worked. The biggest disappointment was the shower, which at best could be described as a 'trickle'. Both the over-head shower and the hand-held were so badly blocked with lime scale, the water trickled out. Getting the hot and cold balance was difficult at the best of times - sometimes it was hot, sometimes it went cold. I pointed this out to the manager who said it was due to the hard water in Rome. Not really an excuse - should have changed the units.
Second issue was the noise. Although we were on a main Street, you could hear the traffic but this was not an issue as such. The street noise wasn't intrusive. The issue were some kids running around the staircase in the building in the early morning. This was not directly the hotels fault - we bought ear plugs for the second night and slept great.
Other than that, the safe was missing due to damage and hadn't been replaced yet.
The hotel was in A Fantastic location. 3 minutes from the Forum and Collosseum.
I would recommend this hotel - just bring ear plugs and hope that they fix the shower.
