This room was not as pictured very very small kinda reminded me of carnival cruise Not enough room to walk in front of bed. No table as shown. Dust balls around all corners. Toilet had built up urine. Breakfast was scrambled COLD eggs. Bread from night before that was left on table. Dirty sponge used to clean dishes.

The stay was overall good. The really only bad thing was the WiFi. Had to sit in the lobby to make any kind of call or text. No WiFi in the room.

Mediocre accomodations close to everything

Well situated although a bit hard to find, located on a busy noisy street. Rooms were adequate though small. There is an elevator (cage type but worked fine) vs climbing several flights of stairs. When we opened the window it was apparent other guests had been smoking. There was old wood (maybe shutters of some sort) inside the window casing with cigarette butts right there - definitely a fire hazard. Breakfast was simple but was a good start to the day. Staff (most) were friendly and helpful. The owner (I believe that's who he was) was kind of grumpy and wanted to rush people from the breakfast area. For the price and convenience of being near attractions and the train, it was suitable but not what I expected. Rick Steves had said it was a good choice so we went with that. Maybe he was given a better room for a good rating?

Quaint hotel near city center

Hotel has only a few rooms in a building that houses another small hotel and several shops. Rooms are small but suitable since time was spent touring, not in room. Breakfast was okay, beds were somewhat firm, a/c was barely adequate. Location is central Rome and easy access to public transportation. Staff was friendly. Overall, pleasant 3 night experience

Quaint hotel, great location!

We had a wonderful time! The staff were all super nice and helpful. The location was great! We were able to find street parking and walked or took the metro to see everything. The room was clean. There were 5 of us, so it was a little tight, but very functional.

Excellent location and affordable hotel

Great location to stay in this cheap hotel. Rooms are small but comfortable and we really enjoyed the location as it was close to the train station and easy walking distance to most of the tourist places in the old parts of the city. We walked everywhere here and even walked from the train station to the hotel which is about 10 min with all our luggage. Staff were friendly and breakfast was just continental but it got us going in the morning. Will be staying there again at the end of this trip as we fly out from Rome in 2 weeks.

Most enjoyable stay at Hotel Margaret

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Margaret in room 402. The staff/owners where friendly and very helpful. The rooms are comfortable and the hotel is close to everything. Our kids loved riding in the old styled elevator. Breakfast is continental so there is no muesli, fruit or eggs but the coffee and croissants were always lovely and fresh. Traffic was only noisy when we had our window open so did not bother us too much considering how central we were. We will definitely be back, what a lovely place to stay.

Rome sightseeing trip

Very small room in an older building, with tiny bathroom. TV didn't work 1 night, limited channels only in Italian. Wifi was good. Staff was pleasant. Simple breakfast w/cereal, juice, bread, coffee/tea. Although price was good, was still disappointing.

The Devil's in the detail

We liked the room, the bathroom and the breakfast. We had the room closest to the reception, so the phone could be heard when it rang, but not the conversationsame outside. I wish the shower were bigger and the hot water would stay for the duration of my bath. The location was convenient just because it was close to Termini and we had to visit it often. But during the night that area gets sketchy. We walked to the Fontana di Trevi (in repair) and from the Coliseum, but they are not close to the hotel. The cleaning service was not good. They never changed the sheets or the towels (we stayed 6 nights). The bed was made out of 2 twin beds, so the gap in the middle was somewhat annoying. Overall, it was fine, just some details that could make it better.

Margaret Hotel deserves 3.5 to 4

The Hotel is near Termini station-walking distance (unless you have luggage). The apartment was converted to Hotel (common scenario in Rome). Breakfast included (do n't be excited-very limited food at breakfast). Room cleanness okay (bathroom so so). Expect 3.5; but I will give 4, because of hospitality.I will recommend this hotel,because of courteous staffs at front, who helped me a lot, including getting cab to Airport.Thank you Zia and others for your help.

hotel Marvellous Margaret

I bought this 3 night stay for my parents 50th birthdays. They loved the hotel and its location and said the staff were excellent and friendly. The room was perfect and everything promised in their advertising was 100% true . The only negative is the fact that there is no kettle provided in the room . Well worth the money and they would have no hesitation telling people about the hotel and its perfect location .

This hotel was a very good deal in a convenient location close to Termini but not too close. My single room had a nice street view but the drawback was the nice street noise, even with the windows closed. A good set of earplugs solved the problem. The single room was very tiny but it was all I needed.

For the money it was worth being so close to the terminal station, the room itself could of used with the light switch cover falling off randomly and the drain in the bathroom being a little suspect. Location again was great just seemed like a suspect part of town

Old and smelly- bathrm to bed

Outdated- impossible to have it clean at that rate. Bathroom to bedspread- old and mildewy smell. Stingy breakfast, 1 croissant per person- please, does that really save them $ ?? Location was great- that's the only positive characteristic about this place.

Nice hotel staff, location is great and very accessible to all tourist attractions, restraints and shops! Clean room, comfortable. Could do with a better variety of good at breakfast. Overall a great experience and lovely stay!
