We booked this hotel, simply for the location and because we are walkers, felt it would be ideally located to walking through Rome. The hotel itself is partially a residence. When we arrived, the entrance to the hotel was empty and when we buzzed, we were advised that we were to check in at the hotel next door (Villa D'Este). The staff were great and informative, providing a suggestion for lunch as we were hungry. The room was small, probably one of the smallest we've encountered in Europe. The bathroom was tiny and just this side of functional, (you had to leave a light on to use in the evening, otherwise you were banging your knees into the shower). The mattress was extremely thin and in need of replacement it was very uncomfortable. I wouldn't say it was quiet, but the street noise was limited, and after 10 p.m. pretty much nonexistent. It was easy to walk to attractions, but we recommend taking a hop on hop off, if you are not familiar with the city, it will help you get oriented. It took us 3 hours to locate an attraction that was only 25 minutes from our hotel :-( . There are lots of restaurants close by, including a chinese restaurant that is highly recommended if you are tired of Italian food (why, but okay).
The hotel provides a good breakfast, but the room is small and can get crowded.
