Ireland's capital city, Dublin, lies roughly 20 kilometres to the southwest of Rush.

Take a journey out to Lusk, 5 kilometres to the west. Once you arrive, head straight over to Malahide Castle.

Sitting 80 kilometres to the north, Newcastle Beach is a fabulous spot to spend an afternoon enjoying the sights and smells of the ocean. Sandymount Beach is also home to some gorgeous views. You'll find this inviting shoreline 25 kilometres to the north.

Searching for a natural escape? Grab your car keys and head in the direction of Bru na Boinne Visitor Centre, 30 kilometres away from Rush. Alternatively, take a breath of fresh air at Powerscourt Waterfall, 40 kilometres away.

Leave your phone in the car and discover the soothing sights and sounds of the Ardgillan Demesne and the Talbot Botanic Gardens.

No rugby union supporter will want to miss out on a visit to Aviva Stadium, which is located 20 kilometres away in Dublin. Take a look at the event schedule to find out when they're playing. If you miss them, why not catch the stadium's second home team, the Republic of Ireland national football team?

If you're thinking about venturing outwards, journey 7 kilometres north to Skerries. It's here you'll discover the Gormanston College and the Skerries Mills. We also suggest trying out Balbriggan, 11 kilometres to the northwest, for Four Knocks and the Sonairte Ecology Centre.

Heading to Julianstown? This destination is only 25 kilometres to the northwest. If you're staying here a while, get a map and circle Martello Tower, Millmount Museum and the Bellewstown Golf Club. Also consider swinging by the Highlanes Gallery and Old Abbey.

Getting outdoors and seeing the area's landscapes can't get much better when you can choose from engaging activities like mountain biking and mountain climbing.
