We had been driving all day and could not find a hotel room in Montreal at any price so we kept going and booked Motel Bonsoir in Joliette. The lady in the office only spoke French so we had a communication problem. While in the office an older man came in and she said something to him. I made out the 24 which was the room number she gave me. When I got back into our vehicle and drove to the room number and older man and a young man were removing a filthy twin box spring and a filthy piece of mattress foam from the room. I would have left right then but it was after 7:00 PM and raining. The room was sparse with dark blue spreads. By the look of what came out of the room, we promptly took them off the beds and threw them in the corner. The only thing good about the room was laminate floors. The chair cushions were filthy. The entrance board trim board was missing. There was no way to secure the door from the inside. No dead bolt, no chain, nothing. The sheets were paper thin. We slept. Woke up early, showered and got out of there.
Oh, I forgot to mention the man sitting outside his room, no shirt, drinking, smoking and hacking and spitting. That night and early the next morning. Gross.
