Convenient quiet and comfortable hotel.
Great location in the old town just away from all the tourists but close to walk to everything including the ferry terminal. Comfortable room in annexe near main hotel. A little small with lots of luggage. Quiet.

Quality of service Very good.
We had a very pleasant stay at this Hotel. Staff very helpful. Breakfast was good value for money. The only critism we had was the noise from the street, as we didn't realize we were near a night club. No critism with the Hotel at all.

Room at Hôtel Elizabeth was Dirty!
We chose this hotel for an additional day prior to start of a Discover France bicycle trip package. It was to be the first stay on that package and we did not want to have to move again for one night. We never discovered whether we were down graded to a lesser grade of room for our second night's stay (the one through Discover France) to achieve the combined stay in the same room. The assigned room was out in an annex building, and it was filthy. My wife would not walk on the floors without shoes on (anywhere). There was dirt on the floors in and around the furniture and had cobwebs around lamps and drapes. It looked like the room had never seen a cleaning cloth in months. The toilet area was cramped and very poorly lit. Probably just as well, as what you can't see, won't hurt you; right! On the bright side, their famous breakfast (in the main building) was great!

Handy for the old town
Very handy for exploring the old town as set within the walls. This hotel has two buildings: a 3 star establishment and cheaper version round the corner. I stayed in the latter. It was perfectly adequate for one night - a little small but fine for a solo traveller. It was clean and teh bed coomfy and teh staff were helpful. Unfortuntately I had to pay the full rate for the room - there do not seem to be any single rooms around St Malo which is a pity. This is a market that is rarely catered for. Breakfast cost double than that in other establishments in France so I did not eat there so cannot comment on its quality or value for money.

Great location, friendly staff
We had a great stay; everyone was accommodating, the room was clean and spacious. Nightlife was a little noisy but overall, we would gladly do it again.

We booked the hotel well in advance, but were put in the annex, which was not good. the stairs were narrow and steep, very difficult with cases.

Convenient stopover
We arrived quite late but there was someone at reception to check us in and help with the bags. We were in the annex which is 50 meters from the main building and the room we had was comfortable. The self-service continential breakfast was in the rustic cellar in the main building and was fine - you can even boil an egg if you want to. We have stayed here before - and will probably do so again.

Disliked: Room comfort
We had booked a twin room in this three-star hotel. When we got to the hotel and were shown the room we were appalled. It was in an annex, walk up to 3rd floor, odd-shaped and so minute that you could open bathroom door only a fraction because a bed prevented it to be opened fully. On top of all that the only window was facing a high wall just 2 feet away. As it was puring with rain, we could not really look for another hotel, so we upgraded to a twin in the main building with elevator, but at double the price of the room we had booked.

Value for money
Staff on arrival very helpful, there are three parts to this hotel, we were out back top floor a bit a trek but all we needed is some where clean to freshen up and to sleep, it was ideal. Cars parked for you in lock up at extra cost but worth it, walled city very interesting and has all you need very close to the hotel, not five mins from port by car.

Well placed, charming hotel
Charming hotel in beautiful ancient building, excellent location within the old city. Very near restaurants. Quiet room, small but clean. Staff on reception extremely helpful and pleasant. Safe garage storage for our bikes and were able to have access to our room on arrival in mid-morning.

One night stay
We stayed in the annexe which was just up the road from the main hotel. We arrived late but did receive a welcome reception. They kindly offered us their garage to park our motorbike free of charge. Room was really basic. Couldn't use the shower as it was secured in one position so my husband had to hold it over my head. Good location within minutes of the main street of restaurants and bars.

Friendly service in a comfortable old hotel
I was particularly impressed by the friendly reception. The hotel itself is a bit quaint (it could have been somewhere in Kensington) but everything worked and it was clean. Would consider going there again.

Excellent experience
Everything about our stay was delightful. The staff were friendly and very helpful in every respect. The room was spacious and spotlessly clean. We were directed to nearby parking which was safe and convenient. This was our second stay at the Elizabeth and we will happily return when in St Malo again.

History, comfort and great service all in one!
Although our visit was much too short, this was a wonderful place to stay. Located across the road from the ramparts of the pirate city, St Malo, this 17th century building was just magic to stay in. The staff could not have been more helpful or friendlier, our room was wonderful and the breakfast room in the cellar was unbelievable! -so beautifully furnished and equipped. We were made to feel like special guests and would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone who wants real value for money - with that special extra touch!

Sorry we couldn't stay longer
A warm welcome at the Hotel Elizabeth, although we had come straight from a very delayed ferry late at night. We were passing through at the start of a cycle tour, so sorry we didn't stay longer. Great breakfast, and basic but comfortable room in the annexe to the main hotel. The location of the hotel is perfect, just inside the city walls.

Perfect one-night stopover
Booked two rooms for my family of four, for a one-night stopover after the ferry journey, before driving further south. The hotel is in a perfect location within the walls of the old city, and the relatively high price reflects this. Our 3rd floor rooms, served by an elevator, were clean (if a bit musty), comfortable and quiet. The receptionist was very helpful and friendly (as usual, in France, an attempt at a few words of French, however basic, takes you a long way), and did her best to explain parking arrangements. The hotel have a pre-paid overnight rate for the car-parks outside the city walls, which we couldn't quite make work for us (our pre-paid ticket did not get us out of the car-park, and the car-park attendant was not at all helpful), so we just paid the standard rate of 12 Euros to exit in the morning - a minor inconvenience which you can probably avoid if you have a better command of the language. The many shops, restaurants and bars of the Intra Muros are just a short walk away from the hotel, and, to soak up the charm of St. Malo for just one night, we were happy to pay the money and give ourselves a treat.

Elizabeth Hotel - not sure it deserves 3 stars
My room was in a building away from the hotel's address - no lift (my booking was based partly on the claim to have a lift), no power plug to charge my phone, no plug for the sink (afraid I'd wash some undies?), no-where to put my suitcase, only a wooden chair, wi-fi only if parked in front of the reception desk, & only the owner had any English at all - my French is very limited & the other staff weren't very helpful.

Our room was located in the "annex". We had to drag our luggage up two flights of twisty stairs. The common areas of the annex were musty and smelled bad. Our bed was extremely worn and uncomfortable.
