Very good

Lovely building and we had a really excellent dinner - the catering team was changing so they weren't on their new menu yet so what we had was effectively a one-off. Lots of attention from the chap who was taking over the running of the kitchen.
We had an automatic email from the property saying we had pre-payed but when we checked out we were told we hadn't. That caused some confusion especially as the man at checkout kept referring to our Expedia booking - I know Hotels.com is part to Expedia but it was hardly helpful especially as this was all dealt with in French.
The decor of the building is lovely and it is well set up for wheelchair access with lifts between floors (but awkward stairs from the car park to reception.
Bike parking was rudimentary and outdoors but the chateau is in a very quiet spot.

Good for overnight stop
Clean if ageing room. Very good staff. A real nice property in a non-descript location
An inexpensive overnight stop on the way to our next destination. Cool Château, simple 80s typical hotel rooms, no ac, and it was quite warm. Restaurant with nice outdoor area was decent.

Paradise lost
First room was in the basement looked like a travel lodge before a facelift second room obviously more exspensive in the main house said it was a bridal suite?????? Looked out over the kitchen roof and staff smoking area poor brides is all I can say room was nice but could do better a very disappointing hotel meals were the worst I was all up night after one dinner with a upset stomach that's all you need to no it was bad.
Enjoyed our 1 night stay here - lovely setting. Had a nice swim in the pool - a little cold but enjoyed it to myself. Will definitely recommend this place
Stopover on our way to Toulouse. Beautiful Chateau but sadly now quite close to industrial area. The accommodation was excellent and the immediate surroundings very good. Pool was perfect and as soon as we were installed on a sun lounger a member of the gardening staff arrived with cold bottled water gratis. Excellent evening meal that would have been perfect if served with linen table cloth and napkins, sadly both were paper. Breakfast also could not be faulted. All in all a good stay that with a little fine tuning could be perfect.
Beautiful exterior and ultra modern interior with well designed rooms
The weather was glorious and we would have liked to read in the shade, yet outside the seating area was cheap cafe style and not in keeping with the overall image
Definitely a successful functions venue rather than a stoppover
This is a very nice Chateau Hotel, with a nice pool and beautiful grounds... Unfortunately the surrounding area is not the prettiest - but that is out of their control of course... That being said, the service is very good, and the place is very clean. My only problem is that our room was in the newer wing of the Chateau, and it was not as nice as I was hoping. To be fair, they DO show these newer rooms in their photos - but I didn't look through ALL of their photos, and of course they show the photos of the nicer "Deluxe" rooms first, so that is what I was expecting when we arrived... Just wanted other people to know that they have TWO kinds of rooms - and once we got there, it was too late to pay for an upgrade...
Finding it was a problem as the satnav stops you early. you need to ignore the satnav carry on to a round-about about a mile further on turn take the last exit on the roundabout before the one you left and the gates appear just before the next road-about. you can see the chateau on the left from the main road.
It has a 1/2 mile tree lined drive. This place would be sold out if they had a gourmet style restaurant . but there is a nice little local restaurant a 15 min stroll away. tip ask for a carafe of the house wine.
Excellent welcome and staff, cannot fault Chateau Saint Marcel
For a superb stay

Potential to be a great hotel
We stayed at this hotel as the building itself looks stunning and is set in nice grounds. The hotel though is in the middle odd a retail/industrial park but that doesn't deter the scenic location.
There's a large restaurant which was only open at lunchtime.
There's a nice pool but the doors leading to it were locked throughout our stay. A walk round the building was required.
The reception isn't manned all day.
The tennis court hasn't been maintained. The rooms are basic but comfortable and there's no noise from the road or surrounding area. Great location near Agen.
The stay was good and served what we needed but this could be a great hotel if things were open and maintained.
Would definitely recommend anyone to stay. But don't expect luxuries but the price is competitive.
A very nice, clean château and the staff were extremely helpful. Excellent value for the price that we paid (£56) The pool was great too!
The only downside was no air conditioning and as we had to have the windows open during the night, all we could hear was the water fountain running!

Overall pretty average
Beautiful building, but the rooms are modern, small and cheaply finished. Though v clean. Friendly staff. Bathrooms a big disappointment in terms of aesthetics though the shower was good quality. The hotel's wifi was down when we stayed, which is not their fault but was a shame as this was one of our reasons for booking and yet no compensation was forthcoming. Overall pretty average.
