Almost every review I've read for this hotel was pretty poor but for what it cost me I was more than happy with this hotel. I paid £98 for 2 people - 2 nights in a twin room with breakfast. Bargain!
I chose this hotel because it's close to 2 tram stops and I wanted to spend a few days around Salford Quays. I found there was lots to do with the kids The Lowry, IWM, Media City, river cruises and Ordsall Hall, all within easy reach.
The room was small and basic but clean. I found the beds firm but for me they were comfortable.
Reception were very helpful if you needed anything and all the staff were pleasant.
If you pay for breakfast, it is continental - meat, cheese, fruit, boiled eggs, bread, cereals, fruit, pastries and jams etc and was served until 10am. Everything I had was nice.
There are no tea and coffee facilities in the room but you can pay extra to have them. It was £3.50 but the deposit was £25.
You can buy hot food (pizza/nuggets etc) from reception but we didn't try it. There's a vending machine in reception and fridges with drinks to purchase.
If you want to charge your phone in bed or use your hairdryer/straighteners in front of the mirror then take an extension lead as there are only 2 plugs which aren't really conviniently placed.
All in all, I had a very pleasant stay. Just remember if you book that it's a budget hotel and you get what you pay for. I do prefer ibis styles but sometimes you just have to budget.
