We had a great stay at the Sonesta ES Suites in San Antonio. They were very friendly and accomodating. There was construction going on, and for the most part it did not interfere with our stay. We will stay again if we are in the area. Thank you.

Beautifully renovated property next to The Alamo
Upon checking in, myself, the associates were friendly. I could smell how new everything was as well. Fresh remodel of entire property. This was a major plus. I went up to the room and the water was off for 3 hours, possibly due to them installing new water heaters. I guess this because when the water came back on it took a long time for the hot water to hit, but once it did, there was almost instant hot water the rest of my stay. When I went back down to set foot into the town, i was assisted by members of the front desk team as to which initial direction to go. Even though I have Google on my phone, it really helps to have a more local person verify I will be heading I. The right direction. Breakfast was available each day til 9, but they didn’t pack everything back up at 9 on the dot like some locations. It was simple breakfast, but the addition of some fresh produce (oranges and apples, also green onions, pico de gallo, and spinach to add to your eggs or potatoes) made it a step above some other places breakfast is offered. The one thing I didn’t like at this beautifully renovated hotel was the $40 per night valet parking. When my friend met me on my second day there, he had a manual transmission, we self parked and continued to self park the entire time, but were still charged the entire $40 for valet. I think it should have, at the least, been a discounted rate for the “valet” self parking we did. Overall, I will return, bur if joined by my friend, will park elsewhe

We have a flood in our room from the dishwasher leaking and a broken cabinet door. We called the front desk, and we were told maintenance is out until 8am. We were never notified if it was fixed or if they were going to change our room. We had to ask 2x about it before we got an answer. They did eventually fix it. We were overcharged and had tonpay for parking which wasn't listed on website.

Nice property and good location. However the bathtub did not have a stopper to take a bath and only the cold water worked. No hot! The motion sensor next to the door would go off when I turned over and in bed. Was a terrible night of sleep being woken up with a bright light being turned on every time I moved. I managed to cover the sensor the next night and it was fine.

Hotel under full reconstruction, not notified ahead of time. After one hour in the room my daughter became very sick due to smell of paint. We had to move out and look for alternative accommodation. Front desk promised we would have a full refund. I am still waiting for a response. I have been a client of Expedia for many years. This was a rude awakening. Please refund all payments ASAP.

I picked Sonesta because of the lication near the Alamodome and for the hot breakfast that was included with our room. Valet parking was reasonably priced and they were quick to pull our car when we needed it. The location was only 2 blocks from the Alamo. It wasn't right on the riverwalk, but it was close enough to walk down for dinner. The room was the best part! I was expecting a separate bedroom, but we actually had two bedrooms with a full kitchen & living space between. It was perfect for an extended family to share a room and save the cost of two rooms! If you are looking to stay longervthan overnight in San Antonio, this place has you covered!

Construction on the property is going on but the staff still got us everything we needed in a reasonable time frame. Valet is always so helpful when we come into town. Walkable to river center mall,riverwalk and the Alamo.
