This hotel is ideal to feel like you escape without leaving Old San Juan. As Puerto Ricans we have visited the Old San Juan many times and the Colonial gave us that extra space to enjoy the buzz of Old San Juan (very walkable) but at the same time have a quite place to decompress at the end! The staff handled everything amazingly!

Historical building with an IKEA vibe. Comfortable lobby with a restroom for guests and a bar serving complimentary beverages. Friendly staff. Stairs to guest rooms. Old plumbing that cannot take toilet paper.

Oh this place was fantastic! The included drinks and location are definitely the two best factors. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. The Ubers were easily accessible. I mean, no negatives. I loved the area! Will return.

Home away from home
Second time at El colonial in 2 years. This time I traveled alone for a week on the island but I needed to rest. Parcha with Vodka at the front desk and I slept like a baby from 4 pm - 10:45 am. I feel at home here and I feel safe. Off to my travels celebrating my 50th Birthday. Thank you Family at El Colonial

Beautiful old building in center of old San Juan.
Very nice, old architecture place, excellent location. Room was great. Staff was very friendly and helpful. No elevator, which I don’t mind at all, but worth noting.
