This is an amazing place! Beautiful, modern interior redone in 2013. The owner, who has traveled to the US and speaks English (although I enjoyed speaking French), is the most fabulous host you could hope for! He enjoys chatting with each guest, and his dog, Elvis, may greet you too.
My only suggestion for improvement would be 2 things: the bed was so hard, it was like sleeping on the floor. A mattress pad, maybe? And, please, a sturdier cup that the crushable plastic one in the bathroom. Otherwise, open the windows and enjoy the beautiful view and fresh air! Your lungs will thank you.
It is an adventure getting there, and by rental car is the only way, no buses; taxis would be expensive. About one hour winding but beautiful drive to Vallon Pont D'Arc, if you're going there. The roads are from medieval times, not meant for cars, so go slowly because you never know what will come flying at you around one of the curves.
It's also a long drive to a restaurant or market, so if you want to eat out, do it before you come back to the place. However, the (expensive) terrace restaurant is both a lovely family experience or romantic setting. The food is all organic and locally harvested, some herb flavors I was unfamiliar with, but delicious. If you don't speak French, the menu can be confusing because the translation comes on separate pages. Also, green salad was not on the menu, but when I asked for one, I got a really delicious surprise! It's haute cuisine, in brief.
