If the view wasn’t so breathtaking, I would give it zero stars.
Here is why:
- Hard to get to, signal goes in and out on the way there so waze goes offline, barely any directional signs showing where it’s at.
-Minimal lighting on the way to the location and also around the facility. Had to use my phone flashlight.
- Staff never answers if you have a question prior to your stay. Had to call at 10 times throughout the day until they finally answered.
- Staff seems bothered to help or answer questions.
- The restaurant at the location is overpriced and wants to present itself as a high end restaurant but lacks the quality in both food and service.
- Room had ants and other critters roaming around.
- Bathroom toilet paper holder was broken. All other bath accessories were rusted and poorly kept.
In conclusion, save ur money!
View 10. Property -6. We got there by 5pm and place was uncomfortable. Beds are horrible and smell humid. There was no internet, no cable and no phone service during the stay. We ordered 2 plates at the restaurant and it was stupidly expensive ($46) and taste was very basic. Luckily for us, there where 4 dogs that we could feed with the food. Glass door wasn’t able to lock and rail was stuck. So far, I woudn’t recommend the place at all. I’ve stayed at casa 1800 at cerro verde and for soooo much, is a better place than this
We stayed in igloo 2 with the panoramic view. Absolutely beautiful! Staff is amazing, you feel as though you're at home. Excersions are great. We did the hike up to El Peñon with Humberto, the coffee tour and the Canopy (Ziplinning). We had breakfast which was delicious and the Frozen Jocote. Overall 10/10 service and stay.
The views are breathtaking, the staff is lovely and the convenient location for hikes is amazing.
I would only advise visitors to either go with a rental/their cars or have drop off/pick up already planned ahead as is not easy to get transport around.
The property is beautiful. The staff is nice/welcoming. There was hot water. My only negative was the smell of mold. Water comes through the windows onto the floor. There were tarps covering the roof might have leaking problem on the roof. They need some type of fan to get rid of the moisture inside. There is construction going on, hopefully something will be done about the minor suites/igloo problems.
