Girls getaway
No place to put your clothes (no dresser) only a small nightstand. The water pressure would come and go while you were showering but at least the water stayed warm. Good location to Boardwalk and downtown and the people there are very nice.

Remodeled room, we have 3 queen beds got lucky
While most of the pics of this Surf City inn are about filth and dirty areas, my stay on Nov. 2nd 2024 for UC Santa Cruz family weekend was superb . Check in was easy the room was completely remodeled. Parking is free I paid $198 for one night . On top of I got an extra bed so 3 beds were in room 211. I didn't even ask for it. There is no breakfast but plenty of walkable spots to eat and boardwalk is a 5 min walk basically. The room had NETFLIX but you have to login with your account, not a name brand flat screen but I was clear and worked fine . We did use the fridge but not the microwave which looked new. I took lots of pics of all the outlets I counted like 10 plus outlets in perfect area on sides of the beds. The parking lot is real lighted up bright and each unit has lights on front . Only issue I had was one bed moved a little when you moved and the bath tub had a little rust on the drain area.We didn't need to use the AC unit because the room temp was perfect . If you ever need to know the price of a 3 bed one night stay the reception person quoted me $250. Concluding if you need location next to boardwalk basic amenities free parking and can live without free breakfast then book this spot and easy in your wallet . This will be my go to from now on for Santa Cruz. Capitola is just a few exits south.

Was just in for the night...the place was clean, seemed newly remodeled, price was definitely right, and walking distance to the Boardwalk. Pool and Hot tub both working too and with miniature golf I'd definitely stay there again. Be aware though get what you need the night before. The lobby does not open until 9:00am.

I would not pay for a room with a kitchen since there were no pots and pans or dishes or silverware to use.

Freezing showers, weird smells
When I entered the room, it had an odd smell like decaying plastics. The mattress was lumpy, and the sheets had a blood stain. While it was quieter than both my previous rooms at other locations and had a very effective curtain to block sunlight, when I went to shower in the morning there wasn't any hot water. Also, the entire parking lot was full when I tried to park my car, so I was forced to park in the street next to the hotel, behind a fence that blocked any view of my vehicle.
