This is a much older hotel being valiantly run by a kind & devoted staff.
Below is one of the highlights of my visit . . .
Today, the morning of my checkout, there was an amply-stocked breakfast with all manner of hot and cold foods -- from egg omelettes to cereal and yogurt to hot waffles.
That being said, it is BADLY in need of a serious renovation, as it wears all the marks of its history . . .
Everywhere one looks there is chipped paint on the doors and door frames. The concrete sidewalks, stairs, and decks are filthy and in dire need of power washing.
Litter and cigarette butts are everywhere, and have worked their way into all of the once lovely rock garden landscaping's crevices.
And although now too cold for a swim, I noticed that the pool has a thin layer of green algae clinging to its sides.
The vending and ice machines nearby are either abandoned or out of order.
Lastly, while convenient, the hotel is not located in the best of neighborhoods, with many police sirens punctuating the night . . .
The evening of my stay, at 3:28 am, I was awakened by an emergency alert from one of my AirTags which had been recently disturbed. At first I thought it was a strong gust of wind, but the air was still.
Apparently a transient I spotted cutting through the lot was rattling car doors looking for items to steal.
On my way out the door, I noticed from some dated paperwork that the hotel once rented for as much as $300.00/night.
Sad how things have changed . . .
