My check-in was terrible (on 1 June 2021 at 630pm). The woman refused to speak 1 word in English and at the same time she didn't even say "welcome" in Spanish. In fact, the only thing she said was "eight floor" in Spanish. She didn't give me the wifi password and she didn't explain the breakfast arrangements to me (which I found out the next morning was very important as they bring it to your room at a certain time and you don't have it in the dining hall as usual).
The airconditioners in nearly all the rooms have their knobs removed so that guests cannot use this feature (despite the hotel advertising that it has airconditioning), so beware of that as well when you book a hotel in summer or in the middle of winter.
To the owner of this hotel: Please invest in friendlier and more helpful staff that also speak at least some basic English, if you want people to come and stay at your hotel.
While the employees were nice people, the services not so much! Cleanliness is subpar, it feels like it hasn't been renovated in 30-40 years and the furniture looks just as old, linnens and towels and everything else is old and used. Didn't have a chance to try the breakfast so can't comment on that. Location seems OK.
The Windsor suites in its heyday was I would think Magnificent, but now it’s tired definitely needs a makeover . Very close say 10 mins walk to the city center

Good location-Terrible service
Check-in was a nightmare. They said we did not have a reservation even though it was paid in full. After a few minutes, they "found" my receipt under the desk but insisted that Hotels.com had booked when there were no rooms available. When they discovered that what we had paid was not enough to pawn us off to another hotel, they suddenly had a room available. The room was old, the air conditioner knobs were broken so in 30+C temperatures, we had no AC. When I asked about getting it looked at, I was told the AC is what it is and he went back to his phone. The hotel is getting run down but the cleaning staff does an amazing job of making it look good.
We had quite a pleasant surprise when we checked in to the Windsor Hotel. We had a 8th floor room with a huge balcony that overlooked the San Lucia Park and a great view of the surrounding area. The rooms were soundproof so no traffic noise. The bed was comfortable and the air conditioning worked well. The bathroom was spacious with a tub which unfortunately did not have a faucet that would fill the tub, only a shower that did not work very well. But the rest of the bathroom was fine with a new toilet and sink and counter. Also breakfast was included and it was quite a nice one with lots of fruit, cereal, meat and cheese and juice options. The location of the hotel was close to lots of restaurants and parks. Would stay here again for sure.
This hotel was central to be able to get around Santiago station not far away and we were able to walk to most of the places of interest adequate for the price and breakfast was ok to start the day with

Quiet and close to everything
Small hotel on quiet street near many places of interest. Our biggest obstacle was the hotel clerk knew NO English, so we could not ask questions such as, "Where are some restaurants?" This would have been extremely helpful for us as we seemed to walk aimlessly until we stumbled upon a great area, which turned out to be close to the hotel via another path. The hotel let us leave out luggage there all day after checkout since our flight was in the evening.
The location and included breakfast was good but the room was not very clean. The bedding was old and the floors had not been swept. The shower didn't have enough water pressure to even produce a stream of water not to mention it was just cold water. The window wouldn't lock either. Overall, it was not a pleasant experience.
Spacial apartment, OK breakfast, pleasant staff and comfortable beds made an evening return to the hotel after a full day of sightseeing in Santiago great. Place was quiet and clean.

Modest hotel with friendly folks
The hotel is not easy to access. It does have internet for free which is nice. The rooms a bit crummy with broken toilet. The breakfast very meager and poor, so we bought our own fruit and donuts. But desk staff was helpful and there were many tv channels to choose from.
Furnishings are a little dated but you can't beat the price in this part of town! Very well located to all Santiago sights, 5 min walk to metro. Lots of trendy restaurants in the area. Friendly staff and free breakfast!
