I recently had a very disappointing experience at Aloft Santo Domingo Piantini. Upon arrival, despite having a confirmed and paid reservation, the hotel did not have my room available. To make matters worse, the staff was incredibly rude and unprofessional, offering no assistance or explanation for the situation.
Their claim that I attempted to check in and then decided to leave voluntarily is completely false. Why would I leave after arriving and paying for the room? To make the situation even more absurd, they requested an ID for my young daughter, which is completely unnecessary and not standard practice for hotel check-ins. It felt like they were grasping at straws to cover up their lack of preparation and availability.
Given the poor treatment, I was forced to leave and find another hotel, which was not only inconvenient but also frustrating after having already paid for a room at Aloft. The entire experience was unacceptable, and I would advise anyone considering this hotel to think twice. There are far better options in Santo Domingo where customer service is taken seriously, and you won't have to deal with rude staff and false claims.
I highly recommend avoiding this hotel if you're looking for a smooth, hassle-free stay.
