My husband paid extra for a high floor pool view room. He called in that morning and asked for early check in, which they granted so we headed there. Upon check in, they told us they couldn't get us a high floor for early check in, even though we paid extra for it. It was floor level 2. Because we were already there, we checked in. The hotel is very very dingy and dirty feeling. I couldn't believe we paid almost $250 for the night there - aside from the location, the hotel itself is so run down that I couldn't believe the cost. Not only that, but the room was filthy. There were hairs EVERYWHERE. In the shower, around the toilet, STUCK TO THE WALL, all around the bench under the bathroom sink. One of the bath towels had a disgusting poop streak stain on it; didn't even look washed.
At about 8 pm, there was a loud rapping at my door. I had just gotten out of the shower and was getting dressed. The person kept knocking repeatedly and loudly until I was able to get to the door. I opened it and a cleaning lady thrust a garbage bag at me with something in it. I said, "no thank you?" as I wasn't sure what she was handing me. She said, "this is yours. You requested a blanket." I said "no, I didn't. Thank you." Then Front Desk called telling me I rejected the blanket I requested. I let them know I didn't request it.
The only saving grace was having a balcony looking at the canal. That was pretty and nice to sit on. Not worth $250 and wouldn't stay again.
