There are numerous hiking and biking trails (approx. 160 km) plus canoeing and horse riding.
The Landesmusikakademie Hessen Schloss Hallenburg is centrally located and, surrounded by a beautiful park, offers a variety of musical events with creative artists.
The traditional costume festival, an international folklore festival, and the Christmas market under the largest candle in the world inspire locals and visitors from home and abroad.
