quiet time on the bay
Nice place to stay right on the bay western shore. Is a bit remote but that also meant it was quiet which was welcome. Be sure to check out Point Lookout park just 5 mins away. Beautiful view out across the water from either the ground level porch or the third floor screened porch.

Anniversary trip
This is our third time stay here. We came back kid free for our 18th anniversary and really enjoyed our stay. We love staying here and always have a blast! Our biggest complaints would be that there was only one lounge chair for outside and that there was dog hair all over the house. Will definitely continue to recommend this place to others!

Location is fabulous, but
Property was not cleaned. We swept and bought ant spray. After 3 applications they were no longer everwhere. Fridge had no door shelves, broken ones stacked on top. Freezer was caked with frost. Dirty dishes and pans in drawers. No storage space for dry goods. Stove has two burners that do not work. Description fails to mention bathroom sink is in living room. Bathroom was dirty- toilet was dirty. Shower is great, but you need to soak up water from floor after if you want to walk through to get to upstairs. Screen on deck is damaged, not effective at keeping bugs out by any means. Stairs are stained in very dark color making night time navigation tricky. Closet/night stands in bedroom are difficult to access if over 5 feet tall. Views and access to beach - fantastic! Bikes were old and rusted and chains had derailed, but an email quickly brought 2 replacements! Screened porch is lovely. Towels were wet when we went to shower morning after checkin. Uncertain about cleanliness of sheets as there was a small (nickel size) blood stain near the headboard. It is a great location and property management is very responsive. House needs a deep cleaning and maintenance issues need to be addressed. Can’t beat the location and the view!

Beautiful stay, comfy spot, accurately described on site. Took full advantage of kayaks and the ocean. Brought bikes and took some beautiful bike rides. The ride down to Point Lookout is memorable.

Point Lookout in the Springtime
The location and privacy of this property are wonderful. We slept with the blinds open, so each morning we would see the sun bursting up from the ocean and sending swathes of yellow across the water. The tiny cove and sand beach were sweet, and we did not mind the “houseboat” style layout of the home. I would say that the cleanliness could have been better- crumbs on the table, and we swept and mopped the pineneedles that had piled up in the upstairs screened in deck. Also, the amenities need up dating- there were no bowls for cereal or soup, and the only two wine glasses were mismatched tiny and big. There was no soap for the laundry machine, and 15 year old faded magazines added to the impression of everything being a little in need of updating. We really enjoyed our stay- it was a nice taste of beach life.

Sunrise wakeup
Perfect for kayaking, fishing, finding sea glass, etc. Unit was efficient and cottage like. Before you book Ask about who is renting next door, we had loud partiers til 3am on Sat night/Sunday am. Sand gets tracked in so can understand sand in floors, big dust bunnies in bedroom closet were a bit yucky.

The Shed at Kentigern & Kentigern - Love, love, love this place!
The Shed at Kentigern We stayed two nights at the Kentigern Shed after spending a week at Kentigern. It is the cutest, most unique, comfortable and efficient rental we have ever seen. It’s not very big, but covers all needs and was such a relaxing place. You wake in the morning and see the sunrise without even having to get out of bed. The screened porch attached to the bedroom is spacious and has very comfortable furniture. The perfect place to sit and read if you’d rather not go outside or have cocktails and snacks in the evening. The kitchenette has everything needed, including a microwave, toaster and coffee pot. The chairs in the living room are very comfortable. It is difficult to explain the shower/bathroom area, but believe me…it’s efficient! There is a little “two-seater deck” off the main room which is another great place to read, have your morning coffee or have your afternoon cocktail. Great place for a couple to relax and unwind. We will be going back ASAP. Kentigern When we arrived at Kentigern we were immediately in awe and in love. The house, the views, the beach…who could ask for more? We chose this particular rental as it has an elevator and I have a brother who has Parkinson’s. And we cook most of the time so the kitchen was great. Has plenty of room for several people to work together and a fridge that held food for a week. And the comfy sofas in the main area were wonderful. Great for a nap and my husband slept on one all night because it was so comfortable he never woke up after falling asleep watching TV! And a private bath for each bedroom. Again I say, who could ask for more? We did have a few minor issues, but these were addressed immediately by friendly, helpful staff. The large decks on each floor made it very easy to be in the sun or shade if you just want to hang out at the house. To get to the beach is a short walk; not even a “block” from the house. There are kayaks, bikes, life jackets and helmets. Most other places we’ve been you have to drive somewhere to pick these things up and PAY FOR THEM. So, you wake in the morning looking out at the water; you eat breakfast and drink your coffee in the kitchen…looking out at the water; then you have lunch on the screened porch…looking out at the water. After family left, my husband and I didn’t want to leave, so we moved to the “shed” next door and stayed two more days. We'll be back as soon as we can, but definitely for a week next summer!

Perfect change of venue
We’ve been working from home for such a long time and desperately needed a change of venue. This place was perfect. It is small but was just enough room for us. Very funky with some really eclectic features that add to the personality of the unit (you walk through the shower to get from the kitchen to the stairs that head up to the second floor). I’ve never used a Murphy bed before. The Murphy bed (in the living room/dining room area) was amazingly comfortable. We were shocked at how comfortable it was. We expected it to be like a sleep sofa which are usually uncomfortable. The Murphy bed was just the opposite. Great use of space. The second floor has a screened in porch with great chairs and chase lounges that are perfect for an afternoon nap or time spent listening to the waves before heading off to sleep. The sandy beach is lovely. Sat in a low beach chair right in the water which was warm and generally very clean. We liked the secluded location but it is important to know it is a good 25 minutes to a grocery store (target, Harris Teeters, giant, BJs). There are other rentals in the area but there is room between the units so there is plenty of privacy. Very small store about 10 minute drive. We filled a cooler at HT the first morning and didn’t get in our car again during our stay. More rustic than some other units but that added to the charm. Amazing attention by the owner! We had an issue with the air conditioner which wasn’t a big deal at all. Actually just letting her know so it could get fixed before the next renter. The owner had the service person at the unit very quickly after I emailed. He solved the matter quickly and efficiently and was incredibly nice. It was a great get away. Would absolutely return. Great value for the money and wonderfully relaxing place to level set.

The house is unique and was easy to get in with the code and the waterfront fantastic, ocean breeze wonderful, was so excited to come here for the first time but our stay was semi-ruined by the awful housekeeping, the toilet was not cleaned, towels were wet but folded and worse part was sleeping with ants and getting 15 ant bites because of food particles left on floor under the Murphy bed I slept in. On top of that I was charged an 80 dollar cleaning fee service, for what if they aren't doing the job? The only thing we enjoyed was the view and the ocean. I don't think we will be back since I don't trust management and not calling once to see if everything is OK? I did try to call number and went to voicemail and said they would call back, never got a call. I came because of reviews but I can not give a good one here.

Wonderful!
This was our second time staying at this property and we loved it as usual! Elizabeth was very helpful with any issues that came up during our stay! I was disappointed that as soon as we got there I had to sweep the floors because they were very dirty. One thing about the property is that if you want to sleep in while staying in the bedroom you will need to bring an eye mask. There are no curtains on the sliding doors and the sun shines right into the bed in the early morning.

Unique Getaway
This was a very lovely and quaint little home.. Very nice and unique place to getaway to relax. I was not a huge fan of the inside bathroom configurations,, but Owners were creative with the utilization of the space. It rain alot during our stay or I would have definitely rode the bikes. However, I did notice that the bikes that were provided were alittle rusted out. Overall I enjoyed my stay and I left refreshed. I would definitely consider coming here again.

We had a wonderful stay (2 friends and 1 dog). It was a great location right on the water. We enjoyed the views and the water. We didn’t use the kayaks but it was nice having them and we enjoyed watching others go out. It was a great spot for fishing and crabbing too. I appreciated reviews explaining the unique hallway shower. I look forward to returning again.

We had a great time. My husband and son surprised us by coming down for the baby shower. We had a super relaxing time! The only suggestion would be to have more lighting on the stairs to the second floor. Being black it was very difficult telling where they were. Thank you so much!

R&R week on the Bay
This was our second stay at the shed. The first was for a long weekend in October, and we loved it so much we immediately booked a week in July. This is our new favorite retreat for R&R and outdoor fun. We took the kayaks out daily into the Bay and the large creeks or back bays near the shed and got to see tons of great wildlife on every trip: pelicans, osprey, great blue herons, bald eagles, egrets, crabs, and a bunch of others. We also went to Pier 450 a few times for food and drinks and a little shopping, and that is definitely a nice addition to the nearby area. Great sunrises and even moon rises all week over the water. We didn't want to leave the shed, and can't wait to come back again. Screened porch upstairs is spectacular.
