Got locked out of a room I fully paid for over miscommunication on their end. We had to put $200 down for incidentals. Normal. Started using that $200 on file for room service. When I asked “what happens if I go over the $200? Will I have to pay upfront, or do I pay during checkout?” I was told we pay during checkout. So I continue using room service. Mind you, it’s not really room service. You place the order in their restaurant, then YOU have to go down and pick it up. Was not informed about that either. I get a call from a second person saying there’s a discrepancy with my card. They can’t charge me $90 I owe from room service. Strange. Because I was told I didn’t have to pay until check out. When I asked this second person, “was what I was told by the first person inaccurate?” He stated “no”. So what discrepancies are we talking about here? He forwards me to a manager. I explained to this manager what I was told by person #1, and just before the transfer from person #2. He proceeds to tell me that whenever you go over the initial $200 on file, even if it’s by a $1, you have to put another $100 down for you keep ordering on. Uhhhhh ok. We decided to leave to get dinner, came back, now we’re locked out of our room. A room that’s fully paid for? Ok. Go down to pay, expecting a $100 charge like I was told by the manager. Nope. I got charged exactly what I owed. So this hotel is ran by a bunch of liars lol also, construction every morning. Not informed during booking. 4.5/10
