A private and serene guest space of 2300 square feet in the lower level of this beautiful log cabin. Retired couple (Dan and Deb) live above the guest space, but there are no shared spaces and they do not interact with guests unless requested. Serenity Valley is located in a beautiful valley and surrounded by old oaks, numerous flowerbeds, two ponds and a creek. A perfect escape for relaxing, reuniting with family, and renewing your spirit. There are three bedrooms (accommodates 6 guests), three bathrooms with double sinks, as well as a living area and kitchenette. Guests have their own entrance, parking area, patio, grill and firepit. There are NO shared spaces. All common touch points are disinfected ( including counters, light switches, TV remotes, door and toilet handles) All bedding is laundered in hot water and bleach if possible.
Serenity Valley is the entire lower level of this log home. The three themed bedrooms (the Outdoorsman, Farmstead and Honeymooner) have their own private baths with double sinks, TV's, and views of a goldfish pond, Nutting Creek, large oak trees and flowerbeds. There is also a living area with two comfy couches, a 36" TV, DVD player, computer station and a log table. The kitchenette is equipped with a full sized refrigerator, stove, microwave, dishwasher, toaster, waffle maker, coffee pot and Keurig as well as cooking pans, silverware, plates, cups and utensils.
Serenity Valley offers guests peace and tranquility with all the comforts of home. Along with a restful night's sleep there is free Wi-Fi, catch and release fishing, walking trails and a patio with a firepit. Kayaks, a paddle board, and inflatables are available free for those who want to paddle or relax on the 3 acre pond. There is also a small beach and dock on the large pond. A variety of wildlife are commonly seen on the property, including; geese, turkeys, deer, fox and a variety of ducks. The ponds are stocked with large mouth bass, hybrid bluegill, and catfish.
Serenity Valley is surrounded by beautiful Iowa farmland and is perfect for those who want to relax and experience natural surroundings. Decorah is only a 20 minute drive away and is the home of the famous web-cam eagles, Nordic Fest, Vesterheim Museum, the Upper Iowa River and some of the best trout streams in Iowa.
Since the hosts, Dan and Deb Hageman, live in the upper level of the cabin, they are onsite and accessible most of the time. Dan and Deb are happy to visit and provide information during your stay if requested.
