The hotel is conveniently located near the station. The rooms are nicely done . However , the towels in the bathroom were worn out and not to the standard in which the rooms are kept .

It is a French-inspired, upscale luxury hotel that offers excellent service, beautiful, spacious hotel rooms, and elegantly decorated lounges and restaurants. I feel like this hotel is a hidden gem in downtown Seoul, right next to one of the best luxury department stores and a famous street market. I truly enjoyed my stay here.

l’escape is in the middle of it all, but still quiet and intimate. we were only there for a couple of days but enjoyed our room - very stylised and as seen in the photos. it was comfortable enough, clean enough… just not… enough? like they replaced the coffee cups but left used teaspoons on the saucers each day (?!) there was no extra anything in terms of amenities - minimal coffee/tea, absolutely nothing in the bathroom (although they mention you can purchase basics like razors/toothbrushes with them). so in terms of it being a boutique hotel, it just wasn’t… enough. fantastic location, many nice details in the interiors throughout, but just no real energy or substance to make it anything special. too bad because there’s all the potential. service was fine but again, kinda textbook minimal. for a whimsically designed hotel, there was no character or personality to fill it. all looks and no substance, location makes up for it but felt expensive for what you get. i’d go with a brand name next time instead.

The hotel is beautifully decorated and at a wonderful location close to the sought after tourist spots. Breakfast was excellent and we enjoyed the variety. One thing of note was that upon requesting some ice, I was asked to pay a minimal fee. In all my stays at luxury hotels, I cannot recall being charged for ice. I am not sure if there is something particular about ice here but you may consider providing this as a complimentary amenity to your guests as I felt a bit embarrassed for the staff and frankly it cheapens the overall experience.

This is a fabulous hotel in the hottest area of Seoul. Right in between all the action, is comfort and luxury. With large bathrooms, excellent air conditioning, comfortable rooms, and all kinds of restaurants and street vendors just a short walk away…who wouldn’t stay here. The subway is directly below, and the rooms are quiet, sound proof and a nice relief from the hecticness of Seoul. I would come back to this hotel, repeatedly!

The decoration of hotel is very nice. Friendly staff. Spacious room. However, getting to the hotel was a bit challenging since it’s in the middle of a road with complicated traffic and no pedestrian walkways top of a hill. In one day of time I almost got hit by cars twice. Not the safest place to travel especially with luggage. There is an escalator to get to the hotel entrance from the police station but it was not very noticeable. I didn’t see it upon arrival and pushed two luggages up the hill, which was very tiring.

This has been an amazing stay! The hotel, staff, breakfast, room, bed, location. We couldn't have had a better stay. Luxurious rooms, comfortable bed, very good breakfast buffet (both Korean & French). We truly had a blast and had a sweet escape from the busy city of Seoul, while we were in the middle of the city!

I really enjoyed the hotel's style. Most of the staff are amazing and do a great job of making foreign people feel welcome. The room was extremely beautiful and spacious. Housekeeping did a great job resetting the room. However, the price of the hotel is on the more expensive side. This was to be expected. However, I had a very petty issue with the morning breakfast. The morning breakfast is around 55,000 KRW or just under 40 US. For this price, I did not expect to be asked to put my unopened soda back into the cafeteria. That is a little petty. Instead, they want you to buy another soda from your in-room mini-bar. This dependency on small profits made me give them a 4-star rating instead of 5. However, the other services, such as in-room dining, were awesome. Also, the area is located in a very well-traveled marketplace where you can get all your souvenirs. It is also attached to a police station. I don't know how anyone could feel more safe. Also, dont be scared to take a soak in your clawfoot tub. It's worth it!

Lovely property and friendly staff. We had breakfast and happy hour included both were excellent. Our room was upgraded on arrival to a corner suite which was wonderful. Great location too. Only drawbacks are that some furniture is a little stained/knocked and it could have been a little cleaner. We really enjoyed our stay.

Beautiful belle-époque designed hotel. Clever use of light through giant mirrors and warm lamp lighting. Staff friendly professional and a real luxury experience. Upgraded to suite and wow what a treat. It’s apartment sized and so gorgeous. You could almost live in the space permanently it’s so well designed. Love the hotel and cannot fault the service or quality of space.

opulently decorated, though rooms are indeed very dark which gets annoying (esp in bathroom as impossible to do makeup etc). incredibly annoying, overly complicated, lighting switch setup in room, via multitude of knobs and switches though half are mislabelled or do nothing. only small towel each & just x1 nespresso pod per person per day and NO MILK! and were beyond shocked to be told we should go and buy our own milk (once managed to negotiate with reception staff to have some delivered to room the next morning at an agreed time… we waited for one hour before giving up and heading out (an hour later than planned)). staff were very unhelpful and mostly gave impression they would rather be anywhere else. unsuccessfully tried x3 times to go to cocktail bar. 1st time was shortly after arrival, though it was empty and didn’t fancy idea of a drink with staff looming over us in dead bar, 2nd time was after we’d been out all day and wanted quick nightcap before heading to bed but were told we’d have to pay cover charge per person even though we were guests and half the bar was empty & 3rd time we were told they were closed even though it was within their apparent open hours and staff were still milling about. given we were out all day, it was fine as a base to return to each night (and in all fairness the bed was super comfy). but the whole place has vibes of a hotel that was once 5star but is either on way under or just severe penny pinching and now more like 3.5 star.

Really nice hotel with the best location. The vice is very Gothic. If you like that, you will love it. The rooms are little too dark for me but if you are not into reading, the decoration and the feel of the rooms are superb.
